They've already re-signed Blake, so I doubt it.

98% wrong perhaps!! Unless they go back on their re-signing which was published in The Courier a week or two ago which I find hard to believe.

I don't rate Blake at all so it would be good for Meadows. Blake's coaching was ordinary at best against Kersbrook in the finals this year.

heard that Hahndorf have offered Daniel Roberts $300 per game for 2007. Would have to be a desperate measure as although he played 2 league games at the start of 2006 for Eagles he couldnt make their Reserves team by end of year. He is very raw and certainly not worth anywhere near that sort of money.

Daniel Roberts if fit will be pretty handy for Hahndorf. He is a massive unit and will demand the ball around the ground. He will struggle against the better sides in the competition though. So don't agree with the amount of coin being handed to him if the rumour is true. for $300 you would want a gun who will play well pretty much every week. But could be wrong, and he may come out and play very well this year. Money is backing he will be ok but not set the workd on fire
How good is footy!

Agreed Chook.

Roberts played against us later in the year and was absolute shite.

No doubt he could be a good player, but being a massive unit doesn't make you play well every week.

ALSO: Joel Brown to Athelstone is apparently signed, sealed and delivered. Word is he took the Athelstone offer back to the Demons to see if they would match it and was shown the door and given a cabbage for his troubles. So long Mr Brown - don't eat that cabbage in one sitting!

Also can anyone tell me how they rate Daniel Exelby as a coach was a terrific player for Marion.

TOA has been affectionatley dubbed Trent Ordinary Allen after his efforts with Handorf this year. Obviously just chasing the coin - he gave NOTHING!

Sudjai Cook played for Loby. Had some reasonable games, but not worth the reported $600 per game. There would have been a couple of games where that worked out to $200 per kick!!!!

Interesting to hear that Trent Ormond Allen and Sudjai Cook are not dominating the competition they were a couple of my favourite SANFL players. Are there any rumours that they will be looking for new homes in 2007 maybe a move to a Southern FL Club?

I'd say TOA will be looking for another club (instigated by Handorf not TOA), but for no other reason than he had a shocker and didn't look interested at all during 2006.

just my thoughts. Any pies out there care to set us straight?

Interesting comments about Trent. Known him for a long time and he always has played his footy in a casual manner. I agree, he can look disinterested, but i dont think its a true indication of his intentions. He is one of the best natural athletes i have ever seen - his vertical leap is unbelievable. Im sure played in the right spot, in the right team, he would be a terrific player still.

I know that a couple of people I know at SMOSH/West Lakes said back in January that he was only playing about half the year.
If that's not disinterested, I don't know what is.
If Trent went up there not telling them that he was going to the World cup then that's bad form on his part but if Hahndorf signed him knowing that he was only playing half the year, then that's their own fault.

ball magnet wrote:Gee, pretty tough at Onkas. A. Stringer regarded as very good coach and has a very good record re premierships. While his ways may not always agree with everyone, they appear to get results. Obviously the Doggies once again found to be a bit 'sooky' with reports of a few guys bailing out. Got a bit hot in the kitchen, resulting in the 'chef' deciding the gig wasn't for him. That adds to the Troy Bond fiasco of a couple of years ago. Thought Thommo and Phil Heinrich did a reasonable job last year, 2nd after minor rounds, but obviously didn't want to continue the tenure. Doesn't that add up to a common factor - the players. May be they ought to put a few more mirrors in the clubrooms for a real soul search. Still Barry Schoell has a good footy background and may well do a good job - hopefully he doesn't upset the players! If he fails what next - have to get Collo back from Prospect?

Schoell didn't fail but a prophetic call all the same ball magnet!!

Oh yes I remember Silky you were on fire, BOG performance in your mind no doubt. Did you win the $10 voucher to buy some lollies in the kitchen.

No hard ball gets however I seem to recall, in the trenches we call that soft.

I've heard that Cook isn't staying at Lobey. Has some mates ( a good one) at Lofty, but word is that he's not going there either.
The Brown thing isn't definite yet.
