great dropkick wrote:Word around is that Mt Barker may be cooling on the idea of fielding a second A-grade side in Country Division for 2007. Apparently may be a bit of player drain on the cards, and numbers may not be what the hierarchy thought so. Rumor has some players may be following Murph and Harfy to Maccy, while a couple others could throw in with Nairne, and Goody Saints also attracting attention from some as well. The boast of the best depth in the comp a couple of seasons ago may be about to be tested at the Barkeroos.

Have heard from a pretty reliable source that one Jmac is heading down the hill to play for Goody Saints. Will be a big loss for Barker this year having a few of their better players leaving.

Anyone else heard this rumour??

Did hear that Luke Murphy wanted to play for the Devs.

Hope it's not true - he's a peanut.

How is Trent Ormond Allen playing for? and Sudjai Cook?
Also can anyone tell me how they rate Daniel Exelby as a coach was a terrific player for Marion.

TOA has been affectionatley dubbed Trent Ordinary Allen after his efforts with Handorf this year. Obviously just chasing the coin - he gave NOTHING!

Sudjai Cook played for Loby. Had some reasonable games, but not worth the reported $600 per game. There would have been a couple of games where that worked out to $200 per kick!!!!

trent played for the magpies and didn't do much at all. cook played for lobethal for big $ but wasn't a standout as first thought. exelby coached a side that only one 1 game but still a decent player. you will need to ask someone involved with ironbank on what sort of coach he was

Could that be McIntyre and Beau, forget his last name.
If so, they have both played for the coin for the last few years!!

Looks to be the case regarding those two, with the expected excuse of "it's too far" being right up there.
Know one of these two came off in a game early on against Echunga when it was still in the balance early in the last quarter and it didn't appear there was too much wrong with him.

Would think that Central Division would generally be in the middle to lower half of A2 and Country Division would be bottom of A3/top of A4 for the Kangarillas,Meadows and Torrens Valleys and bottom of A4/A5 for the rest.

Mt lofty played 3 div 2 sides in trials at the start of the year and won all 3 games. That included modbury, shoc and scotch oc. I know it is hard to judge by trials, but all wins were about 10 goals plus. How did these 3 sides go this year?

Bugger me!

The Cabbage will struggle to replace him. Massive loss if true.

Why would he want to go to Div 3? Must be getting serious $. The blokes a class act, which is hard to admit given he's a cabbage.

They invested alot of cash in 2006 also and are pretty dirty on themselves not making a GF. I suppose they have to follow through next year, otherwise the season was a complete waste. Always liked playing against Athelstone - like the way they go about things.

Modbury was the better of the three sides, they were around finals, the other two were middle to the bottom half of the ladder

I would expect Lofty Uri and Onkas to take it up to the top teams in Div 2. But Div 1 they would have too much depth for obvious reasons.

The top few players in each of those sides would all be quality Div 1 players.
