Why does Allmond give a stuff what the Eagles think. He obviously doesnt have his priorities set on playing football for them if he is sneaking around just to play A grade for Two Wells against the bottom team, he may as well just give up. What is he trying to achieve by playing for Two Wells behind thier back. If he's not fully committed to playing football in town then why not just throw in the towel. Its the same story for the other boys that TW had playing for them from the Eagles, its probably not the best road to take if they plan to play senior footy at that level i wouldnt have thought.
From TW point of view, are they encouraging him to stick it out in town or come home??? Lets hope its the former, but it seems strange that they were rushed in to play the bottom side, not exactly a crucial game.

Or did the eagles play on a different day?[/quote]

With hindsight it's easy to wonder why Two wells would rush him in for the bottom side Swampy! But last week Hamley weren't playing like a bottom side & i'm sure if you ask a few TW lads, they will tell you they were very concerned going into that game. With the top 4 the way it is, every game is crucial. Many on here predicted an upset.....

No such thing in the APFL. If he pleads guilty he gets 2 weeks regardless of how bad it was.

Well Well, i recall mentioning this problem about a fortnight ago and got slagged for it! I used to get along fine with joel when he was a kid,but something strange has happened since. Damaging footballer for sure ,but packing your bags and going home is the master of all dummy spits. He should of sat on the bench and just copped it,but he chose to carryon like a hick.Is it too much to ask for an apology swamp?

Anyone hear how his tribunal hearing went last night??

I think you have good mail on that Ace. When I heard this morning he was given the option of missing zone game (which hasn't even been picked yet) or a club game I almost fell off my chair. He certainly isn't doing a Sam Mitchell or a Buddy Franklin by choosing the team over individual honours is he.

I wonder if the tribunal gave the other three players at tribunal last night the same option of CHOOSING which game to miss????????????
I think not!

hummocks next game is against mallala, big out. not good news for the eagles who have been struggling for form of late, scraping across the line against hamley and then getting pumped by balak.
just confirming something, jericho didnt make the association squad? interesting to note he made the zone squad last year, was right up near the pointy end of the league leading goal kickers when this year's association squad was picked (with a hummocks man coaching...) wonder if he was unavailable to play on the day so let harry know beforehand to avoid a suspension like the other players got?

hmm - that's very cynical Bob - but a very fair question that should be asked since the Ass team picked every other of the top 5 goals kickers in the squad.

Its a nonsense term we all use all the time in football at all levels - Woofa used it regarding Allmond (no offense meant Woofa) - how does one "rush the player into the side"?

A few things that spring to mind

1. quickly write his name first on the team sheet ..... :?
2. his magnet goes onto the board first ..... :?
3. he gets changed first ......
4. he is the first to the Oval that day ..... :?
5. he runs out first .... :? \
6. he is first one talked about at selection .... :?

There must be more ....

I would guarentee the tribunal didn't offer the same to the other players - that would be seen as too fair and too equitable! :(

I heard on Saturday that the U17's mercy rule has been amended to a margin of 15 goals, instead of the previous 10 goals. Anyone can confirm this?

Seems to me that if the change has been implemented then why not just scrap the damn thing .....

Not true much to many peoples dissapointment Jumbo. The Junior Panel reccomended to the Board to increase to 15 goals but the Board refused to change it (blamed it on the coaches for not making it work).

Doesn't look like it will change for the rest of the season now so we are stuck with it unless the club delegates decide to overrule the board at the next delegates meeting. (July?) But I can't see this happening as it would be 3/4 through season and we may as well put up with it until next year.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Difficult to split 8-10 players at Mallala at the moment. Pies are getting an even contribution from everyone and certainly couldnt pick a top 3. Whitty would be right up there, should ve been considered for zone this year, given 2 b&f and a r/u B&f in past three years at Maggies. Fair effort.
