that is hard....
injuries are a fact of football unfortunately. a lot of the time it depends on who they happen to. and to a large degree that is just pot luck!!

promoting juniors is a good thing and will give supporters hope if they see good young kids having a crack.

Played a few, hasn't played the last couple. Massie has been back for a couple.

Just goes to show that recruiting can be hit and miss. Groecke is a gun player and a ripper bloke (so I am told). But his recruitment hasn't quite paid off.
I am sure every club has similar recruiting stories.

Unfortunately we've had 2 like that in 2 years.
From what I saw of Grocke he doesn't look that big body wise but used his body well, opposition usually needed 3rd man in to help his direct opponent.

Key game is clearly Barker vs TV. If the Roos get up and Lobey get rolled by Blackwood they'll be just outside the 5 on % and in the hunt with 6 in a row.

Remarkable recovery from Mt Barker. Started the year 0-3 & were only 2-7 at the halfway point. Look out if they make the finals

Lobey v Mt barker this week. If Mt Barker win that both clubs will have 9 wins. Lobey have Uraidla in Round 18, Mt Barker have Blackwood. Lobey have about a 4% advantage.

If Lobey win the 5 is obviously set.

Hahndorf have Lofty and Ironbank to finish, so they should be fine.

Hahndorf played some pretty good footy on the weekend.
clearly onkas are struggling but still they looked pretty sharp!

so do we think mt barker were good, or tv bad...or a bit of both??

How much damage will Onkas do to the Div 2 teams next year?

well of course it depends on whether they first of all keep all their players.
they certainly have some quality.
leonard, Kirwan and a couple of their onballers, but based on Saturday their depth is a little light on.

based on the fact that bridegwater went down this year and have gone very well I think onkas will compete.

Onkas will be like Lofty last year... won't lose a game and will make a mockery of the relegation system.

Only if they recruit heavily like Lofty did.
Lofty had a vastly different side in div 2 compared to the side they had in div 1 before getting relegated.

Bridgy certainly haven't found it a cake walk like Lofty did.

But I'd be surprised to see a club the size of Onkas have 2 bad seasons (across all grades) in a row and I would expect they will be right up there in most (if not all) grades.

I reckon the div 2 standard is better this year than when Lofty went down. Bridgewater A's were stronger than Lofty's & haven't dominated as much.

Bridgewater have been below par for a long time... Onkas having 1 down year. I don't think they'd have to recruit like crazy just maybe don't kick the black cat before the season again.
It's a ridiculous system which is flawed. Should be based on 3 years and clubs that go up should be exempt before they reach 3 years, giving them time to build (Echunga). unless they can't fill all grades of course....

I note that (once again) Onkas have been well looked after in finals allocations - this year they've been given the Div 1 Grand Final.

Surely this is getting to be a bit of a joke? Every year this club gets looked after. Gee...wonder why?
