Yep, agree too! The jumper was already shocking but is now actually worse!! I'm just saying that cos i've been on the end of a couple of crucial losses to it over the years! But seriously, i can't believe that they would change the gurnsey? As bad as we think it is, that jumper has won many GF's over the years, does tradition still mean anything anymore? Also, are they even allowed to change the design mid season??

Great point Woofa. That is an interesting question you raise regarding changing of guernsey mid-season. My first answer would be that I wouldnt think you could as I beleive all guernsey designs have to be lodged with the league before a certain date (pretty sure its sometime in the preseason). This obviously hasnt happened. I wonder what penalties Balak will face for this? My bet would be none cause the board is useless!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I dont know about that Rooster, the HWE Guernseys look just fine from the front

Its about time someone else ventured from the vertical stripes and sash!

I would have thought they would have run with something more similar to the HWE design, except in green and gold obviously. But why mess with the famous green and gold stripes? Tradition is flushed down the toilet.

I would be interested to hear from a bloke who has to wear it each week?

It's not a offensive problem matey, it's a defensive problem, for example we are ranked equal 1st in average scores kicked each week, yet we are 5th in scores conceded, that is your problem.

News from the Water Tower is big Schubie has been rushed back into the side for his 1st game of the year to replace Matt Dickie. Word is Dickie contracted some sort of disease while holidaying in Bali over the break. Doctors don't think it's serious, but he's been scratching south of the border a hell of a lot.

Heard this last night too droppie! Would have been pretty funny listening in to the conversation Dickie had with the selectors telling them why he was unavailable. Lets just say they weren't too impressed.

Word of advice to young Dickie: Sometimes the cheap ones aren't always value for money

nice to see Schubie back on the plains - no doubt he was the most influential player for united in the last half of last year to not play in the gf!!
makes an interesting forward line with Schubie, M.Davey.
and i presume one other obvious change to the side - Willy in for Dickie? (hope the Dick gets better soon!)
who are we talking about again! :?

You wouldn't be a past/current forward by any chance would you Rooster? Granted it was obvious the defence was lacking much needed height last week against the tall Balak forwards & i'll take your word on stats but i still maintain that your super quick midfield, while it's not in the same bracket as Mallala's, is your main strength. And a strong marking tall forward to go with impressive small forward, Groova, would be the key.

Mallala - 45pts
HW Eagles - 69pts
Hamley - 15pts

Maybe they have a point about their midfield. As a centreman, you cant sit forward of the footy all day long and hope your mates win the ball so you can kick goals.

Im a fan of Balak's new strip. While i agree a lot of tradition is lost from the old jumper, its a sign of the times and i reckon its a great design, except the cartoon figure on the right nipple. WTF is that about.

Quash that rumour boys like I said last week. Byron played his first game for the Blues yesterday against Thevenard. By the sounds of it he didnt have a huge impact but he definately wont be playing for United.

Good onya MC I'll believe that one after he runs out of chances to qualify for finals this year. Ill put $20 on him playing this week for the Tigers vs Mallala. Heard a freshy today that he has signed and is sealed, admittedly it originated from that "I know every player who played AFL" publican from out your way.

I'll take you up on that $20 bet Donkey and I'll even pay you 3 to 1 odds. I will be the one with the pirate suit on for the night!!

Two Wells by 20 goals - what an absolute pumping - I can't believe that Hamley pushed HWE to 9 points the week before. According to HB stalwart, almost the same side as last week as well.

The return of Oliver into defence was a key for the Roosters, cuts off a lot of ball. A very productive forward line this week as well - 30 goals from the Roosters not seen since the days of the Pink Panthers.

And would be handy if you've got a spare?

but, this weeks result suggest that the forward line is going alright.

Magpies as sharp as a razor. Longies as sharp as a bowling ball.Had a parent teachers night so had to leave with five minutes to go in the third quarter and the tigers had only kicked five goals. Longies have gotta learn to man up against the top sides instead of pretending.Dean Christie impressive. The only person discipline enough to man up was simon schulz, kept j montgomery relativley quiet. Then was moved onto Christie and kept him in check ,well done lurch.Magpies still my tip for the flag even though it's early.Who is this Dean Christie swamp? Is he another west coast freak? Or a local boy you have been hiding?

Balaklava's new jumper was lodged and approved pre-season but a production hold up led to the delay, club thought the debut would be best in the derby against the Eagles. Looked good on Saturday winning every grade.

Speaking of the Eagles clash...it was close all day, lead changing several times in the 1st half, Balak 10 pts up at 3rd break then ran away with it in the last to win by 9 goals.

Great team effort by the Peckers, nearly back to full strength, Eagles missing Jericho & Light, Muckhole reported & sent off early in the last qtr, went straight to the rooms instead of the bench grabbed his bag and went home.
