Got a feeling its going to get messy going on past years where the club has lost respect from many outsiders. Reid is definitely going, expecting him go to centrals to play with some ex-team mates. It is sad the club wanted a premiership so bad and neglect their favourite sons. The most disappointment is players who played in the a graded during the year were not recognize and treated like dirt. With Curley gone expect lukich to follow.

that just about sums it up for you dwella. We lost a 'favourite son' a few years back and haven't looked back. Club before individual is always a good motto to have. If blokes don't want to be there and have better opportunities elsewhere why try and keep them?

Not sure what point you are making here.(Im not a smart man!) Are you saying we (as in my club Sollies) lost a favourite son (Tee?) or that you (South) have lost a favourite son and never looked back.(If so put a name to it.) Im just saying that I don't know what has happened at South but when clubs lose players in a contraversial way it can split a club. It is obvious this Reid and Curley thing is a issue up there going by the talk on here. Yes, the club should always be bigger than the individual (we know that from the Tee situation) but sometimes people simply get pineappled and that is when things can get ugly. Again, I don't know what's happened at South and I am surprised because they seem to be the one club in Port Augusta that respects their own. Lions as I hate to say it are the same in Pirie.

Point is you don't know what happened, nor do I. The two players in question have left of their own accord for whatever reasons, but I would be 100% positive that they have been treated as fairly as any other player and that the football club has not 'neglected' them. Reid ended up playing B grade for a reason (injury, fitness), similarly curley has not broken into the midfield for a reason (struck, granthams, schmidt, lukich etc). So I would hesistate before questioning whether a football club has not looked after their own.

Ridiculous offer for what he is now capable of. Catch and kick only, cant or won't chase, never trains so you will need plenty around him to mop up the slops.

Souths are a strong and proud club, premiers 2012 is one of the many facts that should be acknowledged. Players change clubs all the time and stories are just that. Unless you have all of the facts you will often look silly making comments on the situation. We forget that Ray Hayes is Westies coach. He could talk a Mudskipper into thinking he was a Great White.
