Things are heating up. Dont you guys work - Well i know u dont GTS!!!
Ron i think you will find that bridgy even last year were paying more than you think. Have been told by a few players that they were spending about $1300 a week.

Now how about we stop talking about coin...

well if you were paying someone in the magoos u would be in a bit of trouble. cooper was paid by u blokes last year and he played this year in your team. understand he was not being paid but was on some coin in 2005!

no way was $1300 being spent. there was only 3/4 blokes earning coin. 1 made team of the year but promise you no more than $600 spent a game. just one and a bit player paymen of lofty players. but as we no u need to spend money if you wont a flag. i would rather play div 2 with a couple paid players and locals than a flag with a handful of locals!

you said that same thing about 10 pages back ron, we dont care what you think. dont tell me you wouldnt jump at a chance to see shanty win a div1 flag, and the only way you will ever do that is if you get atleast 13-14 paid players. as far as locals go there is no way you have the talent we have.

how can it be local when you have 13-14 paid players. don't forget only 2 years ago when we beat you it was locals v locals and we won. so we must have better locals than. not going to drop names but no at least 2 players in devils a grade flag that were happy but it did feel a bit empty. i would be the same if shanty won a a grade flag coz it would not happen with just locals. a few paid players understandable but 10 odd would be just too much no matter how much sucess it brings. just think of the locals who missed out in b grade coz 10= blokes come up to you for a couple years when succesful than leave and you than have to really on the locals who missed out. its a catch 22. but you have a medal and i don't, well done!

Ronzo I know what you're saying, but as the last picked player this year at the Devs, I know exactly what it's like.

If I had to choose between finisheing bottom in A grade with my mates again, or just scraping into a B grade premiership (or even missing out) then getting blind watching an A grade premiership, well, I'm choosing the premierships.

There were plenty of blokes who missed out, and they were shattered, but they were also pumped that their mates and their club won flags.

Trust me, if I had missed out in the GF (got dropped for the Semi) I would have been as shattered as anyone, but I still would rather have watched a flag than been at home playing marbles.

well everyone is different da. i don't like losing but i have also played in a winning side and it meant nothing to me coz i wasn't a local even though was friends with a few other players. lcoal football is div 2 now. no such thing as div 1 local football anymore.
