Geez seem to have ruffled a few feathers here  !!I would say that you and ZC are both from Morphies and you are both saying different things. One, that a few leave for some money, and the other, that your players remain loyal to their club. So which one is it?  :? Anyway, i was talking about how Hilly does have integrity and fits your definition quite well. I don't know why he left your club, but we are looking forward to his services for a few years. As for the other comment, it was just that i don't like your club :finga: , and I reckon every other club in the SFL doesn't like your club either. So don't come on to our thread and start slingin shit about who likes whoz club, you Morphy Bums!

I heard people that I don't even know talking about him at the shops this afternoon and just had to quietly listen in... ... and even they had nothing but good things to say about him.

Some work has already been done but more is required.

agreed, need to recruit players if we wanna play finals next year, especially if the rumours about henno leaving are true, even though not his best year was not fully fit all season, possbily from a glass door but thats another story , we will need key position players ie 2nd ruckman, chf , chb, goal kicking on baller in portlock/ eagleton mode, though there is players to fill these our depth is not great and when we suffer injuries thats when it hurts, but i guess it all depends on the way the club want to progress is it worth recruiting??

Didn't know you even had A ruckman!!!

Hilly is a great coach A MUM.Have worked closely with him over a few years now and has had alot of success over that time.I know some people say he inherited a gun outfit but he was at the Emus at the start with Potsy and together turned things around there. He developed alot of juniors at the Emus and the A grade side improved alot when he took over.He took N.Bailey,L.Shrive and T.Bennetts out of u18 and put them into his B grade side in 04 when they were still u18 and they have all turned into great footballers and A GRADE PREMIERSHIP PLAYERS now.In last seasons A grade flag he took M.Bode and J.Greenbank out of u18 and put them into the A GRADE side and they are now A GRADE PREMIERSHIP players as well.If the younger lads at the Vale have the desire to play A GRADE they will definately get a go.I think your club could not be in better hands with Hilly at the top.

Steve Hill has a very good record at Morphett Vale but one would suggest that with him taking over a very, very, very ordinary side at Mclaren that this stint will give us a much better indication of how good a coach Steve really is.As others have said before me i dont think you would have to have been a Rocket Scientist to have been succesfull at Morphett Vale over the last 7 or so years.
It looks from where i stand that Steve is going down a similar path to Trevor Potts in the fact that he is going to a club that has'nt been succesfull at senior level for a while but does have some very good juniors coming through the ranks,so all you young blokes at the club be prepared to be thrown in the deep end because i feel this will be Steve's intentions.Good Luck to everyone.

This should probably belong on the SFL thread, but i think more credit needs to be paid to the junior coaching staff at the Emus, rather than suggesting Hilly turned these people into premiership players. I wish Hilly all the best at Mclaren, but it wasnt him that turned footballers like Bayly, Shrive and Bennetts into good players Tatts. That was done in the years before Hilly promoted them to the seniors, and it was the people coahing them in the years before Hilly came to the Emus who were ultimately responsible for seeing them being promoted to the senior ranks. The Emus had an enourmous amount of natural talent over the last 5 years which has seen them dominate the competition. It was Pottsy and Hilly who harnessed that talent and transformed a club which wasnt achieving its potential. Hopefully he does the same at Mclarens.

I agree with u dutchman, hilly does seem to get alot of credit for these young blokes but the point is that all these kids were absolute gun footballers by the time they even reached u-18's ie-greenbank,bodey,green,bayly,shrive,bennets and there would be more that i havnt even mentioned, but 1 thing is for sure hilly certainly coaches these kids well wen they get to senior level, but some credit must go to their junior coaches as well.

Fair call Dutchman, the club has had some really good junior coaches over the years that need some credit as well as with out them these players would not be the footballers they are today. As with most clubs these coaches some times get forgotten when success comes around, but i still believe that Hilly had a big impact on these players and their developement at senior level.

Not sure yet Panther32.
Perhaps Hereforthebeer, Eagleman 22, or Eagles 23 can answer this.
