Basically he's not "the coach," just a supporter the team listens to...

If TFC win the GF and he's still suspended, then theoretically the PLFL wouldn't recognise him as a Premiership coach, which is a joke...

what's your take, should he be able to coach or not? Yes he may have done a dirty hit (yet to be found guilty) but the penalty is not being able to play, isn't it two bites of the cherry suspending coaching rights as well?

whats the ruling if he was reported and suspended as a coach on sideline, would he be able to play?

it is simple boys, he coaches from behind the fence. at breaks the team come to him. it happened a couple of years ago with simon pedler and just coached from behind the fence.
remember no suspended player is allowed on the ground, either player or coach.

When Harry and Phil were suspended, they were both coaches (Harry under 17 Phil under 15), and all they did was list someone else as coach on the team sheet, and they did it from the boundary.

It's a petty point of difference, but the rules are there...

Carl wouldn't be able to go on the ground... Can't even run water...

Rory Hunt was fine I spoke to him once he was off the ground, he was standing outside
the Waybacks changerooms getting his breath back. He came back to the bench straight after.
I didnt see any high contact or raised elbow, Rory certainly had a sore shoulder but I think he went to
Adelaide on Sat night for a party.
What was concerning was we had umpires who are experienced in junior grades in charge of an A grade
game, no direspect intended but how many Agrade games had the guys done before?

Up at Cummins on the weekend the talk was about PLFL I was told that Marble Range will be in Great Flinders
by 2012. Apparently some upgrades to the courts out there will cater for netball.
A couple of Demon boys told me that a MR coach was quite openly stating this to be the case
Out at Windsor Ave on the 31st of July.
Anyone heard this one Steiger?

Good to see KWF playing the 'company line'.
Spoke to a doctor about this, and he was unable to provide me with any cases where a shoulder hit caused concussion. And apparently no doubt that he was out cold, and did not come to until back in the change rooms.
Also Rory had his Grandfathers 90th in Adelaide sunday, so not particularly relevant in this case.
As for the umpires, they are experienced notheless and if their stories stack up then CS is looking at 3-5. Obviously has to plead NG if they are any chance, but this more than any other case will test the new system.
Would suggest if the umpires are not supported here, then clubs may need to supply umpires to get through the season.
No a good situation heading into finals heh?

Having seen both the incident on Saturday invoving Carl and also the incident in round one involving Adam Kayser and the young souths fella, I have few points to add.
They both collected the opponent high when they had their head over the ball causing the player significant injury. In Hunt's case severe concussion. Both were sent from the field and reported.
It will be interesting what the tribunal will do in terms of pleading guilty or not. Kayser pleaded guilty and got two matches but also had a clean record. Not sure on Carl's tribual record.

Consistency is all anyone involved in PLFL want.

You're right BBE, consistency is all we ask for, yet the tribunal has been consistently inconsistent.

The fellow Kayser collided with (young Traeger IIRC) ended up in Adelaide, and was in a neck brace for weeks, couldn't play again this year.

Two weeks for that with a guilty plea.

When BP got hit, he ended up in hospital, and the not guilty plea saw four games.

For consistency's sake, two for guilty, four for not guilty.

But with 2010 so far, I'm tipping neither!

Because: Attempted striking (not guilty plea) saw a four game lay off, and two striking charges (both not guilty) saw 6 gamesx.

Tasmans may be able to get a video from Southern Cross tv who had a camera there on the weekend situated near where i was sitting. It would be in Tasmans interest to destroy the video.

Will Malcolm Harris be on the tribunal? I am hearing it.

A sentance of 2 to 3 weeks looks likely from what I have been hearing.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

That (letting him sit) is a joke, he is the most biased person I have seen.

I understand that the job of commissioner is a thankless voluntary one, but I can't stand hearing that he's sat on a case, because it is laughable...

If the footage is from Southern Cross, then perhaps the commissioners should just watch the news tonight, and make a judgement... :D

Carl will get off. Didnt look to much in it to me and a total over-reaction from all involved. Rusty's comments from the mound made my day especially the ones directed to Stewy King. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter at the bar all day.

Anyone heard who won the mail medal? I heard a whisper and a bit of a shock if it is true
