im from the BLG and i have to agree with the hills boys, yes we can complain about the ground and weather and all that, but it still doesnt change the fact they beat us fair and square, and all us BLG boys knew the last few years when we've won there have been mediocre hills sides cos noone up there wanted to play, and they fielded a good side this year and smashed us, and for all the big name in's the BLG coulda had, hahn, kennedy, eichner etc., the hills would have a depth of talent as good as them who didnt play (dnt know any hills names), so i think instead of complaining from the BLG we should take a harder stance of rep footy and try field the strongest team possible, so the best two leagues in the state outside the SAAFL can have their best possible teams on the park,

Have you guys ever heard of a league called the GSFL? Reckon they'd give both leagues a towelling.

here a question for anyone that has an understanding of the import ruling in the BL&G.

if you have local status with one BL&G club based on your junior football career but now reside outside of the zone. Are then cleared to another BL&G club. does this local status follow you to your new club or are you now considered an import based on your residence?

In the APFL the player would be classed as an import. Would have thought that rule would be consistent across the leagues.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

if it was based on playing juniors in the league then = no import at any club.

case example Ivan Silvy from willaston to barossa as a local.

from what i know thats the ways the rules are written.

An import who becomes a local i.e. do 5 years or 60 games can only play for one club

Angaston 4.2 9.5 13.7 13.11 (89)
Willaston 0.4 3.4 3.5 4.6 (30)

Gawler Central 4.4 11.7 16.11 22.14 (146)
Kapunda 0.3 3.4 6.6 7.7 (49)

Tanunda 8.2 16.3 22.5 28.9 (177)
South Gawler 2.2 2.2 4.4 7.7 (49)

Nuriootpa 5.4 9.8 14.15 20.19 (139)
Freeling 1.1 5.4 8.5 10.7 (67)

No real surprises to come from this round of footy, with all the victorious teams being the teams most likely to shape the top 4.
Match of the round was a good opportunity to see Pinch Hitter and daysofourlives boys. daysofourlives has been a little quite this week. Rumour has it, he has decided to organising the footy trip a little earlier than first thought.

FGH-oops i mean duke, gets a bit confusing which profile you are using these days.
seems to me you are the one thinking bout the end of year footy trip mate which i can understand if you guys havnt got the ability to play 4 quarters of footy against a team that will most likely not play finals. if you do manage to sneak in2 4th it will be a very brief appearance back in the major round for the panthers. having said that the panthers do play a different brand of footy to the other 3 probable finalists, giving them the ability to cause an upset or 2 come the finals.
agree with you that the 4 is pretty much set now, all teams that won yesty with barossa and willaston in a battle for 5th and and expect freeling to hand the wooden spoon to south in 2 weeks time. kapunda on the improve and you wont want to let your guard down this week duke.
what is going on with the love fest at angaston with craig harvey duke? it seems as though the love of mike teakles life just has to turn up to get in the best players, mike is obviously a very influential person on the prince of angastons coaching panel. harvey was completely outclassed by harvey yesterday.
IMO dawes and the entire back 6 shouldve been the best players yesty, they repelled many donnybrook attacks, dont know the exact stats but it seemed as tho the donnies had more inside 50s but no forward target.

No real suprises from Saturdays results.

I was disappointed with the Tigers performance , they should have really put away Kapunda in the first quater but the boys were a little slow in winning the arm wrestle.

Willaston look like they are struggling for goal kickers , lucky Angaston didnt kick straight or that would of been a hell of hiding from a side not much higher then them on the ladder.

Didn't see the game on sat, but i hear the angaston boys just had to much grunt in the guts for the wfc side with the likes of dawes, clarke, harvey, bain and robinson getting a skin full.

Unfortuantely for the donnies its now looking like 10 wins needed for finals this year and the loss on sat may have knocked them out of the race.
