Yea not suprised. Milo went there originaly because of family. His old man lived up there and he wanted to spend more time seeing him but due to employment the old boy and his family have moved back to Adelaide. That and the fact he and his fiancee live's down south of Adelaide travelling was more than he may have expected given they dont have his dad's house to camp the night at anymore.

Ardrossan will miss him big time...A quality man, quality footballer and a loyal club man through and through. Gave his heart and soul. Just unfortunatly on one leg most times.

Good example of his year was first game against Kadina..He kicked 7 goals up till 3 qtr time and late in that qtr had someone fall across his knee while kicking a goal. Sat out the last qtr of that game and never fully recovered although he still managed to kick big scores in games Ardrossan couldnt score at all..Also might add played in the YP rep side on one leg and still played a part.

A real competitor who loves it rough and tough, passionate and fierce and a Gentleman at the end of the day. Would have spent most of what he was paid over the bar and very well respected amoung his peers.

all the best Milo...and thank you for your unwavering support.

And I reckon you will find that Shane Kenny will be leaving as well. Due to a move with his work over to the west

Heard a pretty big whisper that Ian and Andy Pryor are leaving Gumeracha and heading back to Ardrossan next year. Anyone confirm or deny?

Yeah have heard that's true HBF, being zero point players for Ardrossan would have made them appealing. Believe they still have a shack at pt Clinton/ price as well...

Yea again Shane will be sorely missed....Although he didnt have the greatest of luck this yr either. Again first game against Kadina hurt his knee 5 min in and struggled to run there after...Also sat out the last qtr of that game. Played the next couple on one leg and at the same time began the grueling Star Force training in the hope of joining the Staries. Found out he had floating bone in the knee which kept locking on him that needed a scrape and constantly filling himself with pain killers finally sercumb to the torture to focus soley on his career. Ended up playing the end of the yr when the police training finished and did pretty well for his condition up forward.

Another quality person who gave his heart and soul to the club and they in return idolised him..Wish you all the best Shane the wild west should suit you big fella...

Question now is wether the club can hold onto Bicks and Dot as they are best mates with Shane and the major factor of their recruitment to the club coupled with the fact both live south of the city also. neither require the coin as the both work in very well paid professional jobs..Also the fact Morgan Crabb only went up there later in the season due to the other 2 might question wether they will keep him either...All three were great contributors/recruits in a fairly poor season. And most importantly very well respected by the club and peers.

My opinion is the club should be actively persuing teakle and no other...He need not have to worry about applying surely!!!!!

Boys,boys,boys.....

CFF as much as I respect your opinion saving points aint the be all and end all to everything my friend!!!!!!

And having a shack actually worked against the club by all accounts???? More interested in the fishing side of things rather than socialising within the club????

Dont know the Pryor boy's personaly and im sure their fantastic lads...But what i do know is through my nephew's friendship with them as well as a group of mutural friends we know. Salisbury West boy's...

Fact one the committee didnt want their services anymore and thought there was enough local talent at the club to fill the same positions the pryor boys were being paid to play...Fringe role's...Their words not mine so why would that change given the core of the committe and local players will be the same????
Fact two some of the committee and players made comments about the pryor boy's not knowing many of the local players names due to the fact when they did train they would be straight out the door after to put their boat in the waters to fish. same thing after games.
Fact three the committee stated this was a part of the culture they wanted changed. Where players didnt train and still rocked up for a game..And then expected to be paid and not make themselves available to the social side of the club..Again their words..
Fact??? Having driven up from Adelaide to training one night with a young local boy doing TAFE in town and hearing stories of how one of the boys abused him because he didnt give him the ball and the other bro hearing this also joined in on the abuse only to ostacise the kid for the rest of the game..he was 18 when he spoke to me so I assume he was only 17 at the time..Asked him what the coach did and he said nothing....This kid will one day captain that club and needs people around him to develop that...on field in particular.
Fact??? When they came bk to town they were seen posting on facebook their availability for any club that was willing to pay and ended up in the hills. Ardrossan needs a long term plan with stability....
Fact??? After 4 yrs coach quits hills team half way through and he (the coach) constantly ringing me to find out more on the pryor boys as he puts it they were difficult to coach...his words
fact???? now after one yr in the hills and with a new coach they still want a new home somewhere else??? Close to the shack!!!

hey like I said dont know the boy's directly and good luck to them if they can get the coin...Just not sure why the club would ever think to go back there when they are focussed on moving forward...Only an opinion... :?

My understanding is that Dot and Bicks have committed to the club. Not sure about Crabb. Neither Dot or Bicks need the coin as you said but one of them was the highest paid player at the club so whether they need it or not, like most, were happy to have some go their way.
Re Teaks. The club advertised for an A grade Coach. Teaks would like to do it but would also be happy to assist if the club can get a coach that can bring some players with him. Maybe they have changed the rules about the recruiting this season, and it won't be just 1 or 2 people that will do it like willow has referred to in previous posts. Personally I would like to see Teaks do it. It does have a few contacts from the Hills and BLG leagues.

Willow - do 100% agree with you that points aren't everything!! However being In a situation like ardrossan currently faces, they do become important. Ardrossan are a fair way off the the finals and arguably need at least 6 or 7 quality players in that side. With struggling seniors and juniors as well as a lack of talent in the b grade, they need to source these players from outside the current group. Personally I'd like to see them appoint Teaks, have no doubt he would go a Long way to helping bring some genuine ex-locals back, who are zero points. 7 new players means a lot more than 15 points in most cases, so having as many zero pointers as they can goes along way, especially if they still have to accommodate cotsaris and bickmore. Didn't realise the pryor boys were like you described, I never really rated them anyway but each to their own I suppose!!

You don't need him Beefy, you will find better players available around the traps.

Tyson Wait is back at Imps next year I believe.

Tyson works at the bridge, his girlfriend works at kadina and plays netball at paskies, speaking with him in NZ last week and pretty confident he will line up for imperials again next year.

CFF....Very well writen and exactly what the club needs to the letter!!!

My point was recruiting has to be balanced with attracting the right footballer with attracting the right character and the latter being of most importance...poor cultures will kill a club much quicker than a healthy culture will win the premiership!!!

And in replying to the posts about the pryor boys going back to Ardrossan I purely ment if you think about it seriously no other club on the YP would be actively persuing their services and given they have already been there before why would the club decide to bring them back in a rebuilding stage which is going to take some time and huge effort to achieve. Dosnt make sense even with zero points...Still cost money and money that could be spent looking ahead not behind.

The other way i think they can go recruiting wise is to spend that money on players playing down the spine. Reason being i still think they have a good crop of young local boys that will be good players in the future with further development but like this year due to injuries have had to carry the major work load. This yr for example the FF Milo, Ruckman Benny, CHB Kenny and FB Schuter each missed at least a quarter to half a season of footy through injury weddings etc...and having not recruited a CHF at all they struggled with size and bulk. Milo gone so FF needed, get a CHF, strong experienced ruckman, CHB to cover Kenny and a sound Matthew Schultz at FB. There is your 4 recruits as well as keeping dot bicks and crabby (less points next yr) throw in the local talent stay sound first half the yr and you have plenty to work with in building a future. Throw in teaks for a few seasons and bingo....Your on your way back.
