The Devs beat shanty by 30 goals. does this put them in Div 3 then?

Or should they be relegated to the hills netball league?

a bit of success has gone to your head. I wonder what div they would have put Lofty in after a 50 goal loss to Lobethal a few years back?

It's called a piss-take Wolfie. And the only thing that's gone to my head is a hangover from the 4,563 beers I've had since the GF.

I'm happy for shanty to stay up so we can thrash the pants of you again!

wolverine, who are you associated with in div2. all the hard work weve done to erraticate those types of loses makes us worthy of being happy about our success. dont blame us if other clubs cant manage their resources and players in a way that will improve their club. believe me we will never forget playing lobe that day, thats what makes it all the more pleasing.

I am not a shanty.

Just hoping you Devs don't get to full of yourselves.

Big year next year. Apparently Blackwood has an open cheque book policy. From what i have heard 6 signings already . several from Mount Gambier.

Hope Lofty has stil got some coin :?:

We're entitled to celebrate. We worked our nuts off to win these flags. End of story.

Why do you hope Lofty has still got some coin? So we can pay Chris Judd to play in the super b's?

not sure was talking to one of the blackwood players and he mentioned it. He didn't mention any names though. Apparently their footy director is originally from there.
Only stirring you blokes - it was good to see you blokes get up. Especially the 17's knocking off blackwood and Ironbank

I heard that one of the problems in the past was LACK of coin at Blackwood, that businesses in the area weren't supporting as much as some other areas.
Fair hike from Mt Gambier each week, or are they all gonna work at Dave Bensons Caravans?

Top 3!!! lol!! There is no way the raiders would've beaten Kangarilla, TV or Meadows this year and for that matter even Kersbrook.

They would've beaten the bottom 4 sides easily and been around mid table with Birdwood, Echunga, Blackwood & Nairne.

At the start of 2005 Mt Lofty played a trial against Birdwood at Mt Lofty and beat them by 10 goal so I don't think central div is 25 goal better. The country GF wasn't a true indication as Kersbrook out performed themselves to just get to the GF let alone give a well rested, excellent side of Kangarilla a run.
I believe if Mt Lofty played Kangarilla they would probably beat them by about 7-8 goal.

I think the difference is the top central teams have 2-4 guns and 10-15 quality players. The top Country sides only have 1-2 guns and 8-12 quality players.

When the Devs played Birdwood in 2005, we basically had the side that had been through the 29 straight losses. There were only 2 players in that side that did not play in 2004, and only 1 of them played A Grade all year this year(ie no Trigga, Rosco, Flash, White, Wood, Racer, Artis or Burch). Fair to say that result was very complimentary to Birdwood despite the Devs being VERY undermanned when compared to the 2006 breed.

I think a Full Strength Devils, Uri's and even Onkas side would beat Birdwood by 30 goals, and probably beat Kangarilla by 15-20.

I would put shanty middle of the road in Country.

Mt lofty vs kangarilla
Lofty vs Torrens valley

I still think you are underestimating the quality of the top 3 sides in Country, especially Kangarilla. They would slot into 4th position in Central quite easily - from what I've seen of both comps.

I fo agree they are not as good as the top 3 but nowhere near 15-20 goals. Have you seen any of their games DA?

Can't say I have Gimp.

I'm going by scores in the paper, and players they have going around.

My opinion is based on the fact that they don't seem to have any players (correct me if I'm wrong) that have played SANFL League or Reserves.

Mt Lofty, Uraidla and Onkas all have a number of players at this level, which obviously proved the difference this year.

We have 2 players that have played league, and a number more that have played reserves.

Look at teams like Loby and Handorf. They had ex AFL players, and couldn't get close to any of the top teams.

Onkas finished third and remember the devils gave them a 17goal touch up in round 1. Never seen a div 2 game and we can all speculate, but at the end of the day we will never ever know for sure unless the best side from each division (full strength) play off against each other.

Will that ever happen? If it was to i would most definately go for a look and im sure there would be alot of other people who would do the same.

If you look at Blackwoods B grade they are more than competitive in the country div. playing finals in 3 of the last 5 years. finishing as high as 4th.
I would say there A grade would beat there B grade by between 20 to 30 goals.
having seen both comps, There is no doubt there is a gap between the comps. And so there should be. Central Div teams are the larger communities in the Hills : Larger population to draw players from and to gain revenue from. If you drive thru some of the Country Div towns you will see it is a credit to those clubs to just be able to get enough players each week.

spoke to bloke who played for TV on the weekend and said thet kang. were really hard runners and a standout in div2 but still couldnt hit a target. skills not up to standard.

how would the top 2-3 central b grade sides go against country A grade. i believe our (lofty) b grade would have toweled up a couple of Div1 A grade sides. namely SHANTY. and yes ron im serious.
