Can any1 tell me if Karoonda will be merging next year, or do u think they will keep going. Surelywould put the comp in a nasty spot with only 5 teams if they did

If Karoonda were to fold i imagine the league would go with it. Have heard that this year will not be their final year, they will be looking at pushing on into 2009.

you dont want to go to a 5 team comp eastern eyre has 5 teams. with interleague games, mortlock carnival and the under 17 carnival plus the 3 byes it seems to be very stop start and you only play 12 minor round games a year.

Definately dont want it to happen, but some are saying it's inevitable. Very sad if its true.

i agree, yes a club folding and the league to follow is inevitable, its just a matter of when? Its hard to predict how long the Mallee league can hold on as Karoonda is not the only club struggling. Lets just hope its not for a few years yet... wishful thinking though imo.

Mallee were competitive but Riverland defence kept rebounding the ball out for positive results. Arnold and Kruger, especially with his run and use of ball, seemed to control the game from the backline. M Camplin with 6 and R Proud with 3 were good focal points. Also Nelson landed a couple of good goals from distance. The game was more competitive than the scoreboard indicates.W Nickells probably had the better of centre square. Sayers was only real winner in attack for Mallee.
