So Stirlo,

You have been exposed for the fraud you are. The Gawler Central Football Club biggest night of the year and were is the main man Stirlo. Sitting at home. Someone asks the question of you Stirlo and the best you can come up with in an effort to hide the truth about you is to bag Barossa and their Coach

For the record Taylor won then Howard the young ruckman 2nd, well done to both

Shrek if you are so interested in Mick Briens work with the BL&G i suggest you get a copy of the Annual General Meeting report. There are many factors which go into creating a even competition , Mick has been able to bring the comp back to a even playing field in 2009 with a can do attitude and ongoing exploratory research on what makes a succesful football league.

The incompetent fools in charge of the league 5-10 years ago who were obsessed with Freeling and Barossa Districts playing in finals by handing them 10 imports while the rest of the comp was allowed 3 , are responsible for the comps downfall .

Mick was renowned for his tenacious and gutsy determination as wicket keeper - batsman with West Torrens , his ability to turn 1's into 2's , take on the attack at the later stages of a innings and hold up a end when required is a reflection of his work today with the BL&G.

Sorry if I sound silly, but why is that funny? He coached Hamley to a premiership and didn't he also win a mail medal in the BLG?

Yes, and the same Kym Herrman who was recently arrested for running down the runway of Adelaide Airport nude with two table tennis paddles. I hear he is also barred from a couple of hotels in Gawler . I have no problem with all of that for a coaching gig in the BL&G but he wouldnt get a look in down here in Amauter League.

Well done for giving me the waffle without pointing out anything concrete.

I was disappointed by the absence of an insult though.

My thought is we need some new blood like Sven Lindner or Paul Ryan to get involved, at least they can put two words together in a sentence, unlike Teakle.

Bug & Sledge I wish it was a job, a paying one that it is, sadly it isn't. I'm a member of the Community Radio BBB and my gig is Saturday mornings 52 weeks of the year. Mike comes in as a guest in footy season and because he has spoken to all the coaches during the week he has some information to pass on. Pub or Blog talk is useless and we seek an objective approach. Mike has a way to go there but is improving. We have tried to get another person/s involved to break the total Angaston connection, but can't find anyone willing to commit on a weekly basis. If Mike gave away writing for the Leader we would need another person/s. He is also useful to do the Netball while I sneak away to chat with our old mate Dalwood on 5MU. If anyone is prepared to make the commitment, can refrain from swearing for a couple of hours, be mindful of libel rules and knows a bit about local footy they are more than welcome to join the show. If they do the presenter's course and become a member of BBB FM they may inherit it. I've been doing weekly radio here and elsewhere on sport for about 25 years, and while I love it, there comes a time! Nearly the best thing I have ever done is footy is to do live broadcasts. I want to bring that into the equation for the BLG once again but it needs a lot of work at the radio end to overcome the music and arts fanatics. As for the show itself, I'm never satisfied with it and know that it could always be better. C'mon put your hat in the ring B&S.

Stirlo did you read the Herald last week? if so you would have seen your clubs outburst with the now ex coach & perhaps you maybe able to see what we are getting to on this this site.

Sunbowler keep up the BBB FM broadcasts, not many around with your complete knowledge of country footy. As you said it would be good to get someone else in but like all things volunteers are hard to find & no I would be no good as I do swear, I'm biased and work on Sat mornings.

From memory a couple of seasons ago there was a Ryan on the Footy show with Mike Teakle and Keith Jamieson

Trophy night is great for individual awards but i would say it is far from "the biggest" night of the year.

My lovely wife and i used to donate a trophy every year ( Defender of the year ) but as a semi retired pensioner and the rising petrol prices , beer and general shopping increases we had to give it a miss this year .

I am hearing the Peter Wenham rumour as GC coach for 2009 is gaining momentum , any chance of Slade taking on the job Stirlo ? He will have a bunch of resources if he does ....

Im sorry to hear that you are doing it tough Hafey. I hope that the RBA also reduces interest rates today, as to relieve the strain in the Hafey household. Im sure many people would like to see the great "Hafey defenders" award return.

After going away for the long weekend, looks like I missed a fair bit of banter the last few days.

Stirlo, for a man that seems to be in the know down at the dog-track, you certainly have given this forum zero facts to beleive you, and anyone that is passionate about their club and involved with a lot of decision making (as you have suggested you are) would be at the clubs presentation night, no ifs or buts. I could say Im heavily involved with your club and it would haold as much substance as you have provided. When is your club going to make a decision of your League coach, surely you could give us a date at the least??

Sunbowler, perhaps you could talk Triple B FM into doing a game braodcast, match of the week. I know local stations in Victoria and WA do, and I believe some country areas in SA broadcast their GF's. Then perhaps you could have a guest host from the home club each week, to lighten your load and give opinions/ask questions from a different point of view. Then during the broadcast give score updates from around the grounds, then you would have a lot of the local community tuning into your radio show that dont currently do so!

The question posted about coach signings, for what period of time, is a good one. I believe it is actually in some constitutions that they have to advertise the league coaching position every year no matter what.

Rumour... Tanunda couldn't afford a footy trip after paying its players sooooo much this year, so a few of the boys got together and had a 'footy trip' to the SANFL granny   B&S can shed any light on the matter!

Also from the Grand Final, the mouth of the BL&G Brad James was making a d*ck of himself, again, also at the SANFL GF.

I would also like to congratulate all the BL&G boys who were apart of the Doggies 7th flag. Congrats to big Buckets on the medal, but young O'Hara wouldnt have been that far away I would have thought.

Hafey, quit your internet connection and use the money you save to buy the trophy.

Slade re-signed at Centrals before the GF. Amazing how you're "in the know" with all these rumours but don't know a basic fact like that.

Neither Slade nor the Gowans would want the other to get ahead on the Premiership count, so they will all play until Centrals are no longer competative (or at least top 3 side).

If the Central Tigers are waiting for him to come home, they will be waiting a while!
The Slade returning rumour has been just that, a rumour for the last 4 or 5 years!!
And while waiting they wont spend any cash and have a spare import spot again (or sign up a bloke that doesnt play a game   )!

LC good idea with the BBBFM broadcasts, as you said a lot of the vic radio stations do it. As for footy trips, the ones I went where funded by players and not by footy clubs, so therefore you would think the Tanunda players would have plenty to spend on the trip. Nuri went to Berri (photo's on this site somewhere), Freeling have just returned from Clare (apparently a lot of nudity & no one got any girly action), Ango and both Tanunda went to Melbourne to the Caulfield Cup (I'm presuming that was on this weekend). Not too sure where the other clubs went.
