Apples and Oranges matey!!

Justin and Gruv are both good bloke's, But Justin has been brought up with a soccer background and his level of commitment limit's his A-Grade time.

Groove, on the other hand is a footballer who thinks his way through what's happening on the paddock, He trains and is team orientated. Justin is all raw and natural, and as such you never know what your going to get, good to watch!

JA would bring a certain unpredictability to the forward zone which on the most part would be a bonus - maybe Two Wells can afford to try him - their forward line is performing quite well so far this season and could use him on the big Virginia oval.

I honestly think that Kym is unbiased and if anything leans too much against United but that would be natural. I think you are being a bit harsh on Kym Rooster considering he would be the one bloke who would give this league the most public/media coverage. He also does a Saturday morning radio show on BBBFM with a weekend review/preview on the Adelaide Plains league.

Listen you blokes, I have no problem with Kym, i've heard him on the radio and he goes alright more power to him, my comments circle around the fact that the producer publishes articles (Whether Kym's written them or someone else) and they just aren't detailed! Someone who was there would know the details, and it read's as though someone has just written about the results!

What i'm suggesting (Again! ) is that Kym pick's a match of the round and covers that, then he can do previews on all the other upcoming games, it's just no good to pick up the producer and read very little actual details about a game because no-one was there to write about it, Not Kym's fault though, he can give more time to the match he does cover.

Clubs used to write their own reports. I'm sure if you got somebody from Two Wells to do a write up of your games each week the Producer will publish it. Just make sure the person you get is at least half literate.

Re, the paper -
Just spoke to someone who knows Jars. Supposedly his job is to write MATCH PREVIEWS and a QUICK SHORT PIECE for the back page briefly touching on the games and results from the weekend. Clubs are meant to send in the MATCH REPORTS.
Perhaps if all CLUBS did this there would be more info on the games and then you could see your name that way Rooster.
BTW -I don't think small local community papers have enough cash flow to employ a full time footy writer
Jars apparently has a full time job in the city and doesn't actually work at The Producer office as such - so for someone who gets paid a bit of pocket money on the weekend to cover and promote our league I think he does a good job!
The Adelaide Plains has always relied on locals to provide details for the paper - it's why we're such a strong community out here.
We all love it if the AFL passed down some of their $780 million from the TV Rights deal and then we could use it to promote the local comps a bit more and have 3 paid journos going to 3 diff games (which would be ideal) - but until then all our clubs should take a leaf out of Mallala's book and send in a quality report on their home games - the Producer will publish it and Jars would probably have more info to use in the bits he does write!
There is only one REAL FOOTY! The way it moves through the air - Mmmmm smell that leather smell and hear that leather on leather sound - Go the mighty Sherrin!

It's not about seeing my name you canuckle heads!! :)

It's about writing a review the same way the game actually happened, but thanks anyway for clearing up the details, I would have assumed he had more than a part time role at the Prod, if most of the reviews are based on the home clubs own version of Mike Sheahan, then i spose we can't really expect much more, :yawinkle: Fair Enough then.

I Have enjoyed his work on the Radio Saturday mornings and you are all right, it's goo to have someone actually give a cracker about our league and take the time to write about it.

And as they always say, The Hungry Rabbit pushes a deep wheelbarrow! :-s

Ricky-O back and kicking goals, could be the Danger man! with service from the likes of Starr and Harding Leo will get plenty of it and our boys will be kept busy, should be a corker.

oh, and the other winners will be Mallala and HWE, and it will be interesting to see who rucks for both sides with injuries to Lighty and Longies big V!

Tigers named Luke Spangdenberg in the ruck. Interesting decision considering Spangers is a honest B grader at best but at least his name rhymes with Vandenburg.

This week:
Eagles over United 13-10-88 to 9-7-61.
Mallala over Hamley 21-12-138 to 10-5-65.
Roosters over Virginia 14-8-92 to 11-13-79.

Spangas would never have played ruck in his life and I don't think his knees would take the battering.

Surely you are joking, what about that Schulz fella? he is a pretty good ruckman or is he injured?

Yes it will be great to see the 1994 B grade medalist, Derek 'Handpiece' Schulz back in action after 6 years out of the game. With the Tiger ruck stocks so low they sent out a SOS to the big man and it's a credit to him that he's willing to help the club out in their hour of need.

Long time between pints for big Derek but I was thinking more of his baby bro Simon. If Derek is making a comeback good on him, about time some of us old buys pulled the boots back on. Had many a good clash with D.Schulz back last century, very good B's ruckman well deserving of his medal.

Simon's too soft to ruck.

Mad??? Actually the more I think about it with Spangers and Handpiece dominating the ruck I can't see United losing. I'm changing my tip, tigers by 3 points.
