Can I ask the following questions of the Kinlough / Pedler Cup held together issue:-
* How much do the girls pay at the gate to watch/or play netball & football? (eg Say on a Saturday, do the guys pay more than the girls to come into the ground to play their sport?)
* At the "country grounds" does the netball have it's own seperate canteen?
* At the "country grounds", during the Kinlough / Pedler Cup does the League benefit or just that particular club?
* At the "country grounds", if you were to play a summer sport at that ground...lets say, cricket, would the toilets be open for all to use?

just to get my head around the whole issue - not passing judgement just wondering....

all very good questions rossco

I know one thing that is happening (basing the assumption that the Kinlough remains at Centenary) is the use of a common ticket, to avoid two entry fees.

And if the netball match is the same time as the football, then you won't be watching both at once anyway...

After reading todays footy writeups one can't but wonder about the bias of the writing towards Rangers

Rosco If you want to have a slap at Ravendale/council then thats fine I presume your a ratepayer
so its your money.
OBVIOUSLY THE SAME CANTEEN
THE MONEY GOES TO NETBALL AND FOOTBALL LEAGUE
DO YOU WANT KINLOUGH TO BE PLAYED IN THE SUMMER? IF SO IM SURE THE TOILETS WOULD BE OPEN
sorry I left the caps lock on !
Just so I can get my head around it:
Do the Port Lincoln Football clubs want to see the survival of Junior Footy on EP
Do those people want to see increased or decreased numbers at Junior football events
Do those people want to annoy and alienate country people so that it will get to a stage
where support gets so low that the current antiquated toilets can more than cope with the sh!t
Just asking so I can get my head around it :D

I've got to love this constructive discussion...

Sounds similar to the message I recieved about a "chick fight" brewing on my facebook page yesterday... :D

Where does the under 17 Lincoln City Kinlough coach want to play? :D

just asking a few questions so I can form an opinion.... obviously you have yours already and you are entitled to that.

I was slapping no-one...maybe a few people on here should stop slapping - it may be clouding some judgements!

The coach doesnt mind where it's played - just as long as we are showcasing the best Under 17 footballers on EP - and that can happen at any oval on EP - without emotional arguements detracting from that objective.

in other words all footballers would prefer to play on centenary than ravendale, partly because it is probably the windiest coldest place in the region and partly because it is stuck out in the middle of no where with no atmosphere. having said that footballers do not decide where to play, and if the future holds the carnival at ravendale, i'm sure the footballers would get over playing on that crap oval, for the supposed betterment of the carnivals..

Far too many slappers on here for my liking... ;)

I think we would all agree that the best result for all would be to play footbll and netball within close proximity to each other...pretty simple to do in Cowell, Cleve, Wuddinna etc......not so simple in Port Lincoln.

REASON...Unlike the other country leagues the PLFL and PLNA are not kindred spirits and pretty well operate in different directions. Every one will have a theory on who is to blame, but my simple understanding is that PLNA is run by women. Why do you think that the PLNA courts are fully fenced inside a fully fenced and secure area? At any time they could tell Ravendale to get nicked and run their own show.
You could not fathom the amount of cr@p that the PLFL would have had to go through to get agreement on a single ticket for the day.
As for the PLFL threatening the survival of Junior footy on the EP...KWF that is laughable...

I think the point of Rosscos questions was not to slap ravendale / netball (they do it well enough on their own) but to highlight the divisions that exist when trying to run a carnival of this type.
I wonder how keen the EEFL would be to run a carnival where there only financial involvement was to bear the cost of putting the show on.

All valid points.

If you were a junior wouldnt you want to play on the oval that the Mortlock Shield is played on? Where the AFL players played on (Adel v Geel). Where Port Lincoln play their finals. Where there is atmosphere. Why is that 'ludicrous' Maryanne?

yep agree with all comments i think, KWF we have to remember footy and netball don't get on in lincoln and i for 1 don't know what it is like watching footy at ravendale, these people do and it sounds bloody awful. so lets stop the argument, have the footy at centenary and the women can please themselves (they usually do)!!

I've heard from a number of sources that the state of Ravendale, in particular the toilets, was absolutely abhorrent, after saturday's games.

Let me take a guess who played there?

Even from Melbourne they have an opinion ! its wonderful
If Ravendale is such a poor surface and so windy why play or train
there?
"with Waybacks poor travelling record its hard to see the likes ofSampson, Vogelsanger and Kelsh
being able to penetrate the stiff breeze of Ravendale.
The poor playing surface is likely to hamper the backline with Oleary, Kayser and and Rawson,
unable to pick the bounce on this unpredictable ground. Don't even mention the middle the umpires
might as well ball up on each occasion so that Cragg-Sapsford can get a fair go in the ruck.
The round 5 clash looks all one sided or lop sided Tasmans 40 +"

The round 5 clash should be a ripper. A hard one to pick that. I would not go 40+

Im sure the council would let the WFC train at Centenary or Poole on a Monday and Wednesday under those wonderful lights there  or maybe they could train on their own turf in the cricket nets  Waybacks may boycott all games until a Etihad style stadium is built with a roof so there is no wind or rain to effect their style of play

FFS can't both the PLFL and PLNA agree for just one day

The 1 and only Kinlough I went to as a kid was one where I was an official that Great Flinders hosted. They decided to play at Lock because it made geographical sense to all teams competing. Fairly sure all gate money went to the league and was split 50/50. Bar/Canteen went to the host club. Much like the GF set up would go I assume?

I have said this before on the old thread. both Footy and Netball in PL must learn to get along quick smart otherwise when the time comes to restructure the leagues on EP you are going to be left out in the cold.
