You can't be serious - Lindsay Bassani could not get a kick in a streetfight!!

Hasn't this thread been done to death on another forum??

There is too many to name - and so many people have different experiences... the best I have ever seen was Eddie Schwerdt in the BLG in the '90s...
Tim Clarke was the #1 player in the AFL

Roger Harris - Gladstone(NAFL)/Proprietry(SGL)/Port(SGL) - was a sensational forward - great grab - kicked a shite load of goals. PLayed mid 70s to late 80s from memory when SGL was possibly the premier country league in SA. He may have had a game or 2 at North Adelaide but not sure.

** I can think of a couple of contenders:

1) Peter Kitschke

* 510 games (221 consecutive games) for Jamestown 1948 - 1974
* (Credited with a total of 577 games including representative matches)
* Captain of Jamestown for 7 years
* Retired in 1974 – Aged 43
* Numerous representative matches for Northern Areas Association team
* Member of Premiership teams for Jamestown on 4 occasions 1958, 1959, 1961 and 1968
* Thirteen (13) time Best and Fairest for Jamestown
* Seven time Mail medal winner 1957, 1962, 1963, 1966, 1969, 1971, 1974
* Five time runner up for the Mail medal 1952, 1958, 1961, 1964, 1965
* Twice placed third for the Mail medal - 1960, 1970

2) Bohdan Cybulka

* 7 time Mail Medallist in River Murray Football League - 65, 68,69,70,71,72 (5 consecutive) with Tailem Bend and 75 (Ramblers)
* Played some Reserves footy with Glenelg but i believe didn't stick around long enough to establish a league career.

**Anyone know of any other footballers who could be contenders?

i think this post should have been finished as quick as it started with a record like peter kitschke not to many would hold a candle to him.

Rob 'Red' Clothier would be pretty close to best. 5 time mail medalist 4 times runner up countless best and fairests, 350 senior games and hes still playn. And he did all of this as a centre half back he wasnt a centre man.

You idiot. Way too lazy to play league footy.
Almost too lazy to play at all now.

I reckon you should settle down Boxhead - when did you last get a kick?

Now for a real answer from the Riverland:

Michael Gutsche - very talented player.
I can't real off his facts and figures, but easily the best player I've played with.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Am I missing something in the question? :oops:

Barrie Robran played in Whyalla, does that qualify him or should the topic be reworded?

Rodney Maynard's got a fair resume too!
