Round 5 tips:

Doesnt look like the most exciting draw but you never know

Imps over tailem by 50 points. would be fantastic to see an upset in this game though..

Jervois over mannum by 30 points. the bluds wont want to take mannum lightly (as im sure they wont...) as they looked reasonable on the weekend and had at least 3 of their best players out. playing on the big oval at mannum, its probably lucky for jervois that not a lot of the roos did too much preseason.. regarding the concerns of jervois' 4th quarter fadeouts of this year. it may not be a high scoring last term..

Ramblers should travel down to the dried up lake and spank meningie by at least 120pts. it will probably be more intersting to watch exactly how many goals meningie can score with ramblers sturdy defence, rather than how many ramblers kick themselves.

anyone else got any thoughts

The only thing that will save the Bears from getting smashed will be the rain.

was talking to their fitness coach (who has now resigned) and he said he was hardly getting anyone out to training for the whole preseason. he said early on it was only their new adelaide recruits that were turning up, which would be pretty embarassing. supposedly there were not many out (under 15) for pretty much the whole time, but low and behold the week before the first game they had 40+ blokes roll out!! country footy at its best eh!
he thinks this is the reason for a lot of their injuries they sustained in the first 2 rounds as so many blokes were unfit and not conditioned.

Thats really quite poor on the Roos' players behalf. Their recruiting committee has set them up well, and they've obviously spent a bit of cash, but it would seem they're probably going to waste this and the best they could probably expect would be to battle with Tailem for 5th spot.

Did the fitness coach resign because of the attitude of the players or for unrelated reasons?

yeah he said he was sick of the unprofessional nature of the club and said they were going nowhere fast.

disappointing as you say, they recruited some talent but it looks as though it could all turn to s**t...
