from what I saw experience in the end won the day - Eagles ability to just play with cool heads in the heat of the final few minutes was the difference - Eagles little bloke on the ball was a good player (not sure of his name), Light was OK until he went off with an injury (looked like an ankle), Seccafien and Allmond stood out for the Roosters and an honourable mention to the biggest rooster of them all - played well on the ball and knock ruck.

Certainly there was a Dour Struggle witnessed by one and all, Dave Barnes is the little bloke you mentioned i reckon and he certainly had his angry boots on, he was in and under everything, definatly a hard nut!

I thought there was a section in the 3rd quarter when it was reasonably tight, the young roosters, who won plenty of it just rolled the eyes back and blasted the pill forward on many occaisions only to play right in the hands of 1) Ciccollela, 2) Ja.Wilson. A bit more composure, a bit of belief that they big enough to cop a hip'n'shoulder and a little better delivery forward would have made it a little different at 3 qtr time.

Speaking of 3 qtr Time, where did that wind spring up from, i was cooling the tonsils, only to turn around and be nearly blown over! The Strong "Port Wakefield Doctor" blew in from the Peninsula end, just the end we happened to be going against. Hmmmmmm somebody at Wakey has some friends in high places methinks!! :D
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

yea Barnsey was the name - you're right - he was damaging around the stoppages and showed the Roosters a clean pair of heals a few times running through traffic.

And you're right again - composure - I was calling it experience - it certainly shows.

i sure do hope you can play football better than you can type. are the virginian colts performing well so the mercy rule is enforced and they can swap guernseys and get a half to play against you?

i have nothing against you and think you are great value on this site so hope you don't follow the paths of your fellow clubmen who overstepped the mark and had to be banished from this site by ranger smith

TW has a lot to look forward to, the average age two wells must be way under that of the eagles. talented young guys with respect for the coach will see them become a force in the near future, I REKON

[quote="Ace of Spades"]I see big gav wilson played A's today! would've been a few unhappy campers who rocked up early to watch the B's!

Yes the Big Hairy One made his debut in the 1's, Balak had so many kids in the A's they had to promote the Flying Chalky Pete George from the 2's to look after them as well, still plenty of 1st choice A graders out but the Peckers were "too good for you" Virginia.

This weeks tips;

Match of the round
HW Eagles (1) vs United (3) : have to go with the home team in what will be a close match, both sides comely off closely fought wins but Eagles to win at home.

Southern Derby
Virginia (6) vs Two Wells (4) : Roosters to show why they will be around finals time and the Rams won't be, tip a comfortable 6 to 8 goal win.

The last game for the round
Hamley Bridge (7) vs Mallala (2) : The Pies after their week off will trounce the Bombers at Windy Hill by over 10 goals and return to the top of the ladder.

Eagles 15 pts
Roosters 44 pts
Magpies 70+ pts

Looking at the HWE website they had 9 or more players 23 or under on the weekend, and one first gamer Thomas Rowe who appears to be only 15 years old... that coupled with Wattsy's greys  might even the Ave up a bit!

when i was scouring the net for apfl info a year or so ago
i saw someone from two wells wrote some articles on countryfooty.com.
never seen anything more biased in my life!!
cant remember wat his name was though?
2 bad u cant read the producer on the net!!
(the full thing anyway - but then no one would buy it!)

i think home clubs send in match writeups.
believe i read that he rings up coaches and/or supporters for info.
doubt the producer would be able to pay someone to travel to the grounds.
(bunyip also has writeup on APFl - and reading what is written there i would be 99% sure he doesnt watch ANY apfl)

If you can't remember his name, How do you know he was from Two Wells?

I never said Jarman was biased, but he gets paid to write about the APFL the least he can do is give decent coverage to the game he's at, There's just no point in writing a footy report in the producer based on what he was told at the bar a few hours later. Oh and Robert Laidlaw writes in the bunyip about the APFL, and he gets his info straight from the results page, You'd expect better from a bloke in this league.

I'm no journalist but i would suggest that he identifies a game, such as United Vs Mallala this week, and gets there, he can then write about how that match affects the ladder and then a review of the upcoming games. Look for match of the round and give that the coverage, i mean if Gordon Ramsey was to go to Balaklava and help at the Producer, That's what he'd say, plus a few f%$k's here and there.
