I'm surprised 6 clubs voted for it. Would be interesting to know who those 6 were.

Too late Dutchy, nominations had to be in by Oct 31st. Maybe 2015.

Who said they didn't nominate?

They didn't. Came from Lofty themselves.

Definitely Nairne as they wanted to be team #12. The other 5 including Mt Lofty I think would've been Hahndorf, Lobethal, Onkaparinga Valley and Mt Barker.

You know for sure Nairne voted for it. I was told Onkas would vote against it so that's a surprise.

Absolutely certain Nairne voted for it as they had their own agenda in joining Central Div. And I got a whisper from someone Onkas were all for it too.

Either way, 4 Central clubs backed Lofty.

Shows elitism and a fear of it happening to them.

Yes but would prefer accurate reporting on the 4.
Does Nairne's vote also show elitism.

Also, who had the 20th vote? Isn't there only 19 teams?

Considering it was supposedly a secret ballot, it is all guess work. But there have been enough phone calls and emails over the last month to suggest who the clubs were.

Nairne's vote shows an ulterior motive. Hard to be elitist and protectionist when you aren't even in a position to be. I would imagine Nairne's view was formed from perhaps reading a little too far ahead of the script.

Or perhaps they see the future with a lot more clarity than anyone else.

Maybe Milang, they are still a part of the HFL. Or does the Board get a vote as well?

It is guess work but I think the guessing is pretty close to the money as Armytank suggests. Some of these Central Div 'founding clubs' seem to put themselves up on a pedestal just because they are founding clubs. Some would suggest they think they are above the rules. Unfortunately the rules dictate your destiny even though Mt Lofty stated they would not be dictated to.

I would suggest that if Milang have paid their affiliation fees, then they are fully entitled to vote on the make up, by-laws and administration of the league they are affiliated with

So is this now the end of it, does Echunga go up to Central Div. and Lofty down to Country Div. for 2014.?

Would hope that's the end of it but from reading Lofty's Facebook I think they will keep trying. Echunga will be in central regardless, they've earned the right to move.

If Birdwood/Torrens Valley was anything to go by we will have to wait until March/April for the threats of legal action and QC's involvement.

In other words, yes, Echunga up, Goats down.
