If it's the incident I think it was, it was in the third quarter. From my view at other end of ground, I think this is what happened (from memory)...

Ball on Barmera Hf line. Packs forms, players go down, players get up, one stays down. Play goes on. Free kick or mark taken down field. Umpire stops play and goes back to check player on ground. Then sends a Barmera player off.

At the time I thought it was strange it had taken umpire so long to stop play and then to send a player off, almost as if he was doing so on the evidence of someone else. I could be wrong.

The player sent off was seemingly sent off for the rest of the match.

From what it would seem.

Obviously you can't say too much about it - as it's being investigated.

However, police are saying the player's allegedly been assaulted behind play, resulting in a broken jaw which required surgery.

As far as I understand the Renmark player is taking civil action against the Barmera player.
Didn't see the incident, but something clearly happened because the bloke who was hit did not stop spitting blood for 24 hours....

Mooorok best and fairest Trav Voigt. Four votes ahead of Todd Elliot. Veteran Tom Graetz tied for third, a fair way back from that pair.

Lyrup best and fairest: Lenny Campbell from Scott Watson.

Any others done yet?

Loxton's is this Friday night.

No I was going ok....got a lot worse by the end of the night.
A group of us did a nudie run....not a pretty sight.

Had footy tips wind-up on Sunday. I won and got $1000 so Sunday was pretty big too.
Went and played golf yesterday, pretty casual drinking session.

B grade notes...

Thought it was a very high standard game. Matt Morrell gave the Roos plenty of run and Mark Owens attack on the footy was outstanding, even when the Roos struggled in the 3rd.
Full marks to the Roos for the way they fought back in the last quarter....another couple of minutes and they might have had it.
Rovers first half of the third quarter was brilliant. Four or five quick goals turned the game around.
Rob Searle was gutsy in the backline and Dale Lellmann's use of the footy was always accurate.
Last quarter shenaningans marred what was otherwise a brilliant game of footy.

Hampshire getting sent off....the only nastiness on the field....rest of the game was played in good spirits by both sides.

I was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time DW

Good to see Ben Thomas up there.
Probably doesn't get recognised as much as some of his team-mates...i.e. Tilbrook, Renfrey, Henderson, Hefford etc.
He is a quality player.

he got 3. evidence was produced by BMFC that shows the umpires evidence was flawed and incorrect yet he still gets 3. im not saying he shouldnt have been done. im still waiting to see footage, But if the club can produce hard evidence, and it was hard, that the umpire wasnt telling the truth why 3 weeks? seems like the RFL, again, have decided its a bad injury (as umpires always do on the field) someone has to pay in a big way. my understanding of the incident was the "victim" was trying to rough up the "attacker" all day and in the moments before it happened did something foolish.
