Comparing me with Billyo is not awesome.

I have nothing in common with that person and to be mentioned in the same sentence is disturbing.

I was pissed off last night at one particular club having a go at me at the mail medal count. I am seriously thinking of standing down at the end of the season and also not posting on this site again. If only you all knew how much work is involved behind the scenes.

SS Keatley is overrated, stop stirring the pot ;)

Well done Keats. Hopefully Waybacks can get their season back on track this weekend and then return the favour to Mallee Parks.

Well done to Keatley. We all heard he could play and winning the MM is confirmation for any that didn't see him or doubted him. How many games did he miss for the year ?
Jericho all class and no surprise there. Blacker seemed to be in the top 4 or 5 for Bostons a lot of weeks but not much in their first 1 or 2, so probably a bit surprised there.
Can anyone put on here a list of the count.
Still quite surprised that Harry M wasn't in the top 3. Understand Carl cos MR didn't win many and winning teams usually fill up most of any one games vote getters. But Harry ??. I spose Mallee would have taken some away from him.
I think we have all come across some rather ludicrous vote recipients in some games over the years but heard about an Amateur League side in Adelaide where a team won by 22 goals and players from the losing side got the 3, 2, and the 1. ??????. Also a lad got votes in a game when he was off the ground injured from 5 min into the 2nd quarter ???? You just wonder how much thought goes into it from the umpires sometimes. But I am still yet to hear of a better alternative.

I have been reading this site all season as have many other people around port lincoln and I feel it is time to have my say.
1. Umpires need to be protected and shown more respect, I agree with all the letters in the local paper today about coaches using the comments to bag umpires. Without umpires we wouldnt have a game. Take the good with the bad. My wife plays netball and was disgusted at the boston netball club's coaches comments last week and I read today that the boston president and vice president want nothing to do with the stupid comments. Leave umpires alone.
2. The mail medal so called 'leak' is total bullshit, the winner was always going to come from waybacks or mallee park purely for the amount of games they won during the season. Someone has had a 50/50 stab that it was from waybacks and they got it correct and spread the rumour.

Congratulations to Keatley for winning the medal

1) Agreed
2) "Leaks" do happen daicos. Although I do not know about the 'A' grade, from what I have heard, the result of the juniors was known before the public count.
AND history is littered with cases where the winner has NOT come from the top 2

I played junior footy against Keatley, he is from Jamestown and was playing in their 'A' grade back in 1997 and also senior colts and was a gun back then.
I think he won a few medals in Port Augusta in the last few years so he was always going to be top player when he got to Lincoln.

How can multiple mail medals equate to over-rated?

Jericho is very good, I agree, he's been close to winning it a few times as well.

Speaking to a reader of this site last night, after hearing a complaint about a "leak," I was left to wonder...

Anyone with half a footy brain knows who the best few players are... Over half the posters on here tipped Keats, so that just goes to show the umps were switched on...

I spoke with one former Waybacks coach last night, prior to the count, and I asked him for a tip. He looked around the room, and said "Jericho will poll well, Keatley will have the most for Waybacks, Jock will be Bostons best, and Harry and Mallee will poll well, but didn't play enough games..."

End of the count, Keats, Jerry, Jock, Harry, Mallee...

And he would have had no chance in hell of seeing the votes...

And there is more than one person using the Coyote Ugly name- so don't jump to quick conclusions.

1. agree that umpires do need to be respected more. but also i think the netball game between the 2 top teams should of had the 2 top umpires or at the very least 1 of them. In any game footy, netty ect if the umps cant keep up with the play its just not good enough. If it takes a public comment to make a point and lift the standard of a game of A grade sport than it should be done.

2. agree
