Bit of a silly comment really from a misinformed and not so bright person. Wendels left on good terms as I'm told and to further his prospects as a senior coach in the not too distant future. Given Pongys start to the season I doubt he'd be giggling about anything. The other two I'm told left for success... that's a whole other topic. But I doubt a premiership medal will be hanging around their necks at Myponga.

So does this mean that clay Sampson is nearly ready to hand over the Myponga coaching job? This is his 4th year and hasnt got Myponga off the bottom 3 in his time. Wendles a future candidate?

I'm not sure Sambo will get an opportunity to hand over anything, he'd just be sacked. From what I've heard it may happen sooner than you might think. Wendels will certainly look good then. A little bit of method in the madness.

Stop embarrassing yourself ATS. You clearly have no idea.

Yes both on the smaller size as ovals go. Lenswood normally had a very good grass covering with the slight slope but never noticed it much. Bar one day it was pissing down and a bit muddy so washed some off in the creek.
Ashton yes the fog rolled in on occasions, even missed a goal from 15 out  couldn't see the posts til after the ball left the boot. Should of put fog lights on top of them. :D
Pity they knocked the old grandstand down to build the new club rooms it had a bit of character :(
Only played on Mylor once it was a nice sunny day, but had the impression it would of muddied up a bit. Would of thought the drainage was average.

Do you mean there was a grandstand at ashton? played an under 10s game against uraidla there about 10-12 years ago and there was just club rooms there. and yes it was very foggy, dad even asked me who won the match and he was trying to watch from the sidelines :D

Yes the Grandstand was a solid unit had 4 tiers to sit on to watch the footy, was about 20 yards long right next to the change rooms then a tin shed canteen, tree and time keepers box. They all made way for the new club rooms I think soon after the merger of Ashton and Lenswood Rangers (1983 first season) to form Eastern Rangers.

The two Mt barker grandstands were pretty special, felt like playing on the mcg running around the western wing, however the change rooms, tiny room on the end for visitors and the entire remaining space underneath for the home side!

Hahndorf, so sad.
Loby by 9 goals over a competitive Bridgey. Jumped us from the start, had 3 goals before we scored.
5 in a row, Blackwood your next.

Good day out at Milang today with C's

Blackwood def Mt. Barker easily in the first game.
Milang def Cally/Bridgy by 13 goals in the second.

Both games of very good standard with the young Eagles giving it a real go.

Plenty of spectators and both games played in good spirit. No charge at the gate either.

How many actual Eagles players from the last 1-2 years were there HTR? I am interested to know because I and others as well as you always thought they should play C grade in their own right and forget A and B. What jumpers did they wear?

I also saw them a couple of weeks ago at Callington, looked like the team was about half cally players and half ex bridgy players

I'm not sure DD how many were recent Eagles. I only recognised five or six but was told several of their juniors who played the day before stepped up. Good luck to them. They were undermanned but very competitive and quick when allowed to get their running game going. They wore old Eagles jumpers. Hopefully those involved at the Eagles who refused to allow their club to be involved in C's can now understand how good this is for their club and the HFL. Not to mention their players who got to sing their club song in the opening round and will again. A real pleasure to watch a more level playing field.

can anyone explain what's happened to leith marston at barker ? is he injured or just out of form?

he has kicked over 200 a-grade goals over the past 3 seasons, but next to none in the first 4 games of this year, and then played in the b-grade on saturday. what's happened?

Could well be excess players for Cs. Mt. B had several TV players helping out in the opening round of Cs and I heard there were more wanting a game. All good, keeps Cs happening and players getting a game.

Good one Chop, I was starting to wonder too, you guys need your own c grade thread for sure probably more to talk about than what's on here, feels like central Div thread is dying.

In the first few games I think Leith had been playing a midfield role changing off the ball on the bench.... not too sure why he is playing B- Grade though
