C Grade double-header tomorrow at Callington Oval.

12.45 pm Call/Bridgewater v Uri's
2.15 pm Mt. Barker v Milang

Excellent news that C's are up and running. Input from this site was a major contribution.

Should be a good day out. CHEERS! :-)

Thats Very good to hear HTR, I heard just a couple of weeks ago that it wasnt on. I'm wondering what jumpers the new combined side will wear? All in Bridgy jumpers so far in A and B. Cs should wear Eagle jumpers maybe. There must be a few keen lads still who want to play in those colours.

don't think he had a big game personally but he'd be absolutely pumped with the result. Taken him a long time to get a win against them.

Nothing better than a sleep in Sunday morning, rain on the roof and knowing that your team just cleaned up Hahndorf, (too slow, or a tigers just too fast).
Mind you 2007 was the last time we beat them.

Well done to all involved in C's today at Callington. Shocking weather but two good games of footy; well worth the effort.

Cally/Bridgy over Uri's in the first game. Great to see the side in Eagles jumpers and singing the old club song.

Milang over Mt. Barker by 4 goals in the second game.

Very heartening to watch a good standard comp which almost didn't happen this year. It can only get better.

Agreed, off field form at the wool shed was much better than on field. Just happy to finally get one back from the Demons :) Good bunch of blokes tho.

Great to see Milang back up and running all the best to that club. Also the c grade continuing so give them some where to play.
Having read thro the War and Peace of nearly the entire Central thread after finding this forum a while back and remembering reading I think it was Saintal that said it ( sorry if wrong ) but people were trying to reform the Lenswood/Swamp Gully team for c grade. Is this still happening?

There was a genuine push during 2009 which was squashed for a few reasons, but nothing since. Unlikely to ever happen unfortunately, and doubt we'd have the numbers/interest to get it up and running these days. There was talk of Mylor also around that time showing an interest in re-forming for the C grade.

Glad to read that Cally/Bridgy put a team in. Hopefully this keeps a few people in Cally involved with the "merged" club.

Surely if the poopularity is there and only one team per club is needed then it could be done?

Agree. Lenswood Oval, like Ashton, whilst not everyone's cup of tea, would have been a great place to play back in the day.

Yes both on the smaller size as ovals go. Lenswood normally had a very good grass covering with the slight slope but never noticed it much. Bar one day it was pissing down and a bit muddy so washed some off in the creek.
Ashton yes the fog rolled in on occasions, even missed a goal from 15 out  couldn't see the posts til after the ball left the boot. Should of put fog lights on top of them. :D
Pity they knocked the old grandstand down to build the new club rooms it had a bit of character :(
Only played on Mylor once it was a nice sunny day, but had the impression it would of muddied up a bit. Would of thought the drainage was average.
