Top 4 set, Lions are unable to make unless they were to beat Ports and pick up 30%.
Not sure where the semi's are, and after speaking with Boof last night, not sure how they even work it out anymore.
I have always thought that when both finals have a team from both towns, the team that finishes top will host the Saturday Semi.
We can still finish top, if Centrals beat Sollies, and we beat the in form Westies with a red hot Hayden Warren.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Will be an interesting final round that’s for sure with both Sollies & South playing for top spot and that important home ground advantage in week 1 of the finals. Will Centrals rest players this week?? meaning they will play Port at Central Oval in an elimination final and correct me if I’m wrong but wont the prelim also be held at Central Oval if there is a Pt Augusta side in it? If this is the case and Centrals get over the line against Port, they won’t have to travel and play in Pirie until the GF assuming Sollies win in week 1 of course

Are ports going to get any players back? They are really limping in to the finals at the moment.

Has anyone's opinions changed on the Madigan Medal at all? Mine hasn't, I still think Margitich (South) has it in the bag being in the best players every game he has played and always around the play. Vote getters from other clubs likely to include Cooke (Sollies), Woolford (Centrals), Underwood (Ports), Monfries (Lions) and Hayden Warren (West) has no doubt picked up 6 votes the past 2 weeks at least.

As for B grade I'm not too sure but would expect it to come from any of the top 3 sides who have plenty of wins on the board compared to the bottom 3. Perhaps C Grantham or one of the Amos boys (South), Harrison or A Struck (Centrals), or O Simmons or Lane (Lions).

Margitich second (or is it third??) on 18 votes. The winners both had 20.

Tim Amos from South took out the B grade medal from Obie Simmons of Lions and Jake Bullen of Ports won the Under 18 medail though I'm not sure who was the highest Port Augusta player.

Highest vote getter from Augusta in the 18s was South Augusta's Ellen Degeneres look-alike Slade Laube. Great to see Schmidt get the recognition he deserves along with Cooke, Schmidt is easily one of the better players to come the SGL in recent times

At this stage the Prelim is scheduled for Port Augusta as long as a team from Augusta in the A's is playing.
Loser of Sollies & Souths will play winner of Central & Port next week.

So if Sollies lose this week they have to travel, I would of thought that by them finishing top they would get 2 home finals???

No, unfortunately SGL goes by the schedule that if Pirie/Augusta host the GF, then the Prelim will be held in the other town.
If Sollies were to lose and Ports win, then Prelim in Pirie, and therefore GF in Pirie as one team from Pirie will be in the GF.
If Sollies lose and Centrals win, and then Centrals win the prelim, the GF goes to Port Augusta and then the following year Port Augusta will be the scheduled host.

I believe 2003 Ports vs Lions is the only time Pirie has taken the GF away from Port Augusta, I can't remember the last time 2 Pirie teams played in a GF, but Augusta has taken the Pirie GF numerous times.

Port v lions in 02
Ports v sollies in either 03 or 04

They are the last all pirie gf's I can remember.

I saw the draw for this week and it seems all the 1st and 2nd semis aren't played at the same venue it's mix and match? Another bizarre programming move from the SGL...

Couldn't remember if it was Lions/Sollies in the correct year, I assumed it was when Robertson won the medal in 02, no records online going back that far that I could find

Q: Which team's president used the medal night as an opportunity to try and poach another teams younger players for the 2013 season? Admittedly, not a lot is going on in this neck of the woods so he probably needs to occupy his time somehow I suppose. Perhaps if the bloke hadn't helped create a club culture that is allegedly shizen, they wouldn't have such a difficult time in keeping quality players

That is why you can not get cleared until 19 now as clubs have a choice clear them if they want. Back in the day west poach the best 15 year olds by driving around the streets offering to buy them new boots.
