I see there's a one Shane 'Rusty' Russell pending on the clearances to Ironbank. The big man returns.

It seems spelling was not one of their strong points back then....
He still played some great football for Jervios but the general concencus was that his coaching let him down. Tended to get very abusive when things were not going right. Players do need a rev up at times but he tended to go way over the top.
Played some great football? Didn't he kick like 80 or 90 goals in a side that finished second to bottom? That seems like some excellent football in my opinion. I rememeber watching him play in the SANFL and he absolutely dominated. Pretty sure that Jervois made the prelim in his first year coaching. Seems a bit rough to label him as no good as a coach wouldn't you think? I reckon that Ironbank will do well under Ladhams. I wouldn't have thought someone with his skill and knowledge wouldn't have learnt alot from his first coaching experience and be better for it. The reality of football is that the coach often cops the grief for an underperforming group. Just saying that it seems a little harsh to hold him solely responsible for Jervois 2012 results.

May I be the first to say what a great initiative it is by the HFL to give Blackwood an extra 3 points to their points cap. I totally agree with Blackwood’s heart felt case of how the club is struggling and they are lacking in juniors due to the small Blackwood population.
In 2010 their Under 17s lost the grand final building moment for 2011 in which they triumphed by 10 goals. In 2012 we saw this group of lads graduate into the seniors ranks and take the reserves flag by another amazing 10 goal win. Imagine what we might see with these lads hitting there 20’s this year and joining the likes of last year SANFL recruits of Spoon and Elisseou. Now mix this with the caravan fortune and potentially any SANFL league footballer that wants to earn a pretty penny, I think we might just see a new Blackwood this year as well as a new luxury RV parked in the HFL drive way.

if this is true, every hfl club president should be demanding an instant review of this decision.
if the decision is not revoked, they should be voting in a new board, as there is no way this is in the best interests of the competition.

Sorry Dutch but i would be very surprised if this is correct. Please remember Blackwood also won the under 13's flag and just missed out on the under 15s flag. Their A grade missed finals for the first time this year since the turn of the century (or as far as i can remember). They are also the only metropolitan club in the HFL so id say they are in tip top shape.
Id also like to mention that towards the end of last year the HFL president said there will be NO extra points given once the final call has been made and i struggle to believe Gus would hand over his credibility in the first year of his presidency!!!!

I don't think Blackwood are alone in this but have the biggest "gift" for 2013. Makes an absolute mockery of the whole system and so called player list management....

They signed with their home town side of Anglesea in Victoria about a month ago. Makes a signing with Loby unlikely or a short term/gun for hire scenario.

Have also heard this from a good source. They've decided not to travel to Victoria every week and will front for Loby from what I've heard...
