Not Scared wrote:Interesting stuff in regards to leagues for next year. I don't think the netball scenario would be a huge issue. All netball teams in the Riverland now play in the same town as the footy teams, although the netball courts are not always in the football ground as I think they all are in the Mallee. A1 and A2 play Friday nights, but surely they could play Saturdays for the games when they play Pinaroo/Murrayville or whoever it might be.
The only problem it throws up is that it makes the RFL into a 7 team comp, bringing unwanted byes, but again that could be worked around I'm sure. Perhaps an 8th team could even be mustered up.

My thoughts based on Karoonda’s possible problems:
Karoonda: Merge with either Tailem Bend or Mannum in the RMFL.
BDT crows go back to RMFL.
Peake and Lameroo possible merge and go to RMFL (keep 2 grounds).
Murrayville back to Mexico.
Pinnaroo are caught in the middle???
I don’t know if Peake and Lameroo would be strong enough in the RMFL as individual teams, plus the hardest thing about any of those teams entering the RMFL is convincing the Whingeing Murray Bridge sides that sometimes you have to travel more than ½ an hour for a game.
I had alreadyuheard that Lameroo, Peake and maybe Karoonda had a meeting about merging and joining RMFL as soon as next year. Could all be rubbish, but that is the way the comp is heading.
The next question about Pinnaroo and Murrayville is about joining the RFL. Pinnaroo would get no benefit , player wise from joining with Murrayville. Most of Murrayville players would not come backt to play in a combined scenario, and the amount of locally living players you could count on one hand. fair percentage would retire (crane, beckmann, wyatt)
Hardly worth Pinnaroo changing name or geurnsey.IMO
other problems arise with the RFL playing netball and footbal seperately.
I agree with the netball scenario but I would strongly suggest Murrayville have alot more than just Senior players to offer... You haven't thought a great deal before commenting i would think. Your lack of perspective and intelligence on the matter astounds me

i dont know what game you were at but i think the winning margin was under a goal. Callington played there B grade and about 4 A graders for the second half. Didnt look to bad a game good signs by both sides i think Peake will do well this year got a few good players out there. Cant recall anyone from Peake kicking over 3 goals either
