Some more big games this week.

'Pies take on the Devs near Otto's Bakery. Devs have got some fight about them but that won't be enough to win. 'Pies by 48 points.

Bankers host Onkas at the Tin Shed. We'll see if and how Onkas bounce back. Thunderers by 7 points and Onkas officially say farewell to finals footy.

Lobey play the Woodsmen. Boring. Lobey by 20.

Barkeroos and Cabbage Cutters. Undefeated would-be Kings versus the Grand-Final-Day-gatecrashers. Roos by 18.

TV at one of their no-fixed-places-of-abode vs Bridgy. TV can almost stitch up a berth in the 2012 Finals with a win. TV by 60.

Have noticed the raiders are back training on the oval. Any chance their last home game will be played there?

Also how did everyone enjoy the trip to Callington? Heard the players enjoyed playing on a nice dry oval.

I've only heard rumours about which ovals WON'T be hosting a final......the word is that Onkas and Lobey aren't getting finals this year. Anybody from the Doggies or Tiges heard anything?

Last years finals were at heathfield, Mt Barker x2, Lobethal, Uraidla, and Hahndorf.
I'd be surprised if they didn't host a final at Balhannah and probably the GF. If the GF isn't at Balhannah or Lobethal I think the HFL need to rethink their ideas. Uraidla is also in that list but I'd say they'll be in it but for god sake it better not be at Hahndorf......... Again

Handorf oval has been the scene for 2 of the best grand finals in recent history. I think that oval is the best to view from, one of the best surfaces, creates the best atmoshpere, close proximity to all clubs and provides the closest contest. Hands down winner.

Any truth to the rumour on the huddle, that Paul Richards was back for uraidla? Big in for them if true

Is it 5 games to qualify? With the amount of games left i'm thinking it is unlikely he will be playing come finals time.

Richards as an existing registered player does not need play 4 matches as I believe. Like any injured player if they have not played elsewhere and are registered they can play. I may be wrong .....

Agree with most of that but atmosphere comes from the crowd and since when has any oval been responsible for providing the closest contest? Having said that, I won't be complaining if Hahndorf Oval gets the GF.

I think you are. Needs to play 4 games in that season to qualify for finals.

Very tight game - lots of numbers to the ball
looked like both camps keeping cards close to the chest
Demons had a brief purple patch at the start of the second qtr kicking first 3 goals and getting to within a point then Roos kicked away again
was quite a scrappy affair but the Roos always seemed to have their measure when it was required - good 3rd quarter and with players being rested for most of the last pulled away for a 5 goal win
Mt Barker also winners of Courier Cup

Take my word for it, it is Onkas who will be hosting the Grand Final at Balhannah.

Yeah, I went out and watched this game instead of the Roos but had to leave at 3/4 time so I missed how the last quarter unfolded. Onkas had control of the game but couldn't put TV away. In the third quarter a lot of the play was bottled up in Onkas forward line but they just could not get anybody to take a mark at the right time. Credit to TV for hanging in there though.

Also thought it was a good move that TV wore an 'away' strip so that the colours didn't clash. Funny thing is the away strip just happened to be the yellow HFL association guernseys! Not sure if any other club has done that this year, but well done to whoever came up with the idea.

The knives may come out for Mr Wallace now after that ???????

All very dissapointed about saturdays lost. Can assure the club and playing group are 100% behind the coach though and are looking towards this weeks clash with Ironbank
