Was talking to an old fella (named Krause) in Karoonda yesterday. Funny old bloke but he gave this warning to RMFL clubs - "pencil Mannum in for the GF this year". He was going to save us a parking space and everything!
I guess at least his confidence didn't extend to predicting a definite premiership.

Looks like another good year ahead for the two rival clubs Imps & Jervois.
Nothing could seperate the two sides at the final siren with an opening round draw.

No details in Sunday Mail which is quite poor, hopefully that improves next week. Results on Countryfooty.com, but still its good when we can open up the paper on a Sunday morning and look at results, including goalkickers and best players etc.

Probably the biggest surprise from the round was the one sided nature of the Ramblers/Mannum game. Looks like the Roos have a bit to do yet until they can be pencilled in for a top 3. With expectation lower this year for the Chooks, may this could be their year.

It depends what paper you buy I think. I read the final edition and it had no results in it, and then read the State edition and it had them in there.

Jeremy was a little quiet but Trevor was in the best players. Once again took a massive hanger over the Imperials ruckman. I've heard about his grabs but to see a bloke jump off the shoulders of a 6'6 dude was simply amazing!!!

So was the game close throughout or one team had the lead early and the other team had to reign in a margin??

There is a bit of a write about it through the Imperials website from their coach, but basically the Imperials got a pretty good start to the game but Jervois pulled back to have it pretty much tied up at quarter time. Imps kicked the first goal I think in the 2nd but then the Bluds kicked a few going into half time to be up by 16 points. Imps started the third really well kicking 3 goals straight to hit the lead only to have Jervois respond by kicking the next 5 or so to go into three quarter time up by 5 goals. Jervois kicked the first goal in the 4th, the next 5 or so minutes were a bit scrappy but then Imps got there second win and came home with a full sail to kick the last 5 or 6 goals to tie it up. They then had a chance to kick a score to put themselves in the lead only to be stopped on the line. Jervois then went the full length of the ground to almost have a chance to kick a score when the siren went.

P32 it sounds like that the jervois imps game would have been a very good game to watch . I went and watched the MYPO MENINGIE game it was a joke maybe MENINGIE should think about going to the mallee league they might win agame there . MYPO looked good with J PEDLER in they will push for a top 3 spot .

Yeah from what I heard it was a great game to watch, although both teams obviously disappointed to not get a win and neither crowds able to celebrate!
I heard Joe dominated the game so your definitely right in saying that Mypo will be up there this year. It seems that Mannum and Meningie could struggle again along with Tailem Bend.
Should be a great season!

SOUNDS LIKE THE JERVOIS BOYS NEED A BIT OF WORK ON THEIR FITNESS, MAYBE SOME SHOULD TRY & TRAIN MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK, THEY WILL FIND IT EASIER TO RUN OUT A GAME.
