My thoughts based on Karoonda’s possible problems:
Karoonda: Merge with either Tailem Bend or Mannum in the RMFL.
BDT crows go back to RMFL.
Peake and Lameroo possible merge and go to RMFL (keep 2 grounds).
Murrayville back to Mexico.
Pinnaroo are caught in the middle???

I don’t know if Peake and Lameroo would be strong enough in the RMFL as individual teams, plus the hardest thing about any of those teams entering the RMFL is convincing the Whingeing Murray Bridge sides that sometimes you have to travel more than ½ an hour for a game.

Not sure if i agree with you Bandit... If you are suggesting Murrayville join Victorian Mallee league you obviously struggle with your geography, it would be quicker to bus a team to Adelaide!
Murrayville and Pinnaroo to merge and join RFL?

You obviously think that the Mallee League is not a viable comp Bandit?
Personally I agree in the long term.
Wouldn't Murrayville and Pinnaroo be better off merging seeing as they are only 25 km apart, and the next closest town in the Vic Mallee League is 80 km from Murrayville.

Are you suggesting the Victorian Mallee League is out of the question also Brock? 2 1/2 hour trips to both Hopetoun and Sea Lake for a game of footy seems an unlikely move to me.

If RFL is a closer option for Pinnaroo and Murrayville then of course that would be better. (I don’t know about much over the border). Unfortunately I don’t think that the Mallee league has a long term future though especially if Karoonda (one of the closer sides to Adelaide) is talking about mergers.

I agree with that view, but would the RFL be open to having another team join their comp? What is the view of the RMFL too?

P.S. Congrats on bringing up the century Bandit!

As far as the RMFL is concerned its quite desperate to get another club into the league to bring it up to 8, so i'd imagine as long as it would be competitive and not located too far away from the MB area it would be ok.

Can't see the RFL being too keen on it unless two teams joined.
Noone would be keen on the bye.
Even then it would be doubtful I reckon.

I'm purely guessing but i think the RMFL would maybe accept a 90 minute drive from the MB area, basically because they're so keen to get another club.

So you think that they would consider someone like Lameroo or BDT joining?

Definitely BDT, especially as they were in the league previously (although the RMFL wouldn't have been impressed with them for leaving in the first instance), i'm not so sure about Lameroo, but this is purely my guess.

Thanks mate, the Bandit is running on all 8 cylinders now… I’d like to dedicate this one to the infamous crowmuncher

As far as RMFL distances go…
Peake, Meningie and BDT are all roughly 50k’s from Tailem bend (75km from M.Bridge) and I would think that Lameroo would be within “striking distance” if anything major was to occur in a few years.

Lameroo now have a much improved direct line to Loxton, would it be out of the question to suggest they join the RFL also? If Murr/Pin (merged) were to join also this would denote there being a bye in the league...
