Good representation from many of the Hills clubs amongst the playing group and great to have parents (and grandparents) of players from Ironbank, Hahndorf, Mt Lofty and Bridgewater make the journey down to support us.

howd jackson hooper go mate?

Jacko is going to be a good player, but didn't set the world on fire in this game. Found the game a bit fast and often had much bigger opponents on him. Best players were Will Fearnhead (Bridgy), Josh Hone (Lofty), Henry Bittner (Hahndorf), Adam Houlahan (Bridgy) and Henry Pope (Ironbank).

No kids from Mt Barker or Onkas then?

We had students from Mt Barker, Onkas, Blackwood and Lobethal on top of the above best players. In first post, it was family of players from those clubs I was referring to.
We want Vaughn.

Anyway, to answer Jumbo20's question about coaches for 2013, Steve Samuels is a done deal at Mt Barker. I see him being a long-term coach at the Roos.

no doubting that mt barker will lock samuels in. if he leaves then he takes his players with him.

Thanks mate. Found it!

Onkas vs TV playing for sheep stations tomorrow in the battle for a finals spot. Onkas are home at the Kennel but TV to pinch the dog's bone and start their run for 5th spot. TV by 20 points.

The Woodsmen host the undefeated Roos. Don't expect Hooter Samuels to allow his charges to 'do a Magnussen' and think it's going to be easy and then fall on their faces. Roos are due for a hiccup but they'll win by 45.

The creatures from the black lagoon 'host' Lobey at....ahem....Callington. Expect the entire town to turn out just to witness a game at Callington that won't be decided by more than 735 points. Oh by the way, it's Lobey by 50.

The Devs host the Bankers and whether the Thunderers bring along Jekyll or Hyde will decide the outcome. Really want to go for the Devs but I reckon it will be IB by 28.

Cabbage Cutters host the 'Pies. Hmmm. I just don't know about Uris. Are they a tad slow? Yeah, maybe. Do they dink the ball around too much? Yeah, maybe. I'm sticking my neck out and picking against them at home. Maggies by 18.

notice that ironbank won all five games against lofty yesterday. must have been a while since this has happened.

not one lofty team playing finals in 2012 !! i understand the impact the financial situation is having on the a-grade results, but lofty have always had a strong junior set-up. very surprising.

Onkas lead TV all day apparently, only to be over run in the final minutes.

Yeah, I went out and watched this game instead of the Roos but had to leave at 3/4 time so I missed how the last quarter unfolded. Onkas had control of the game but couldn't put TV away. In the third quarter a lot of the play was bottled up in Onkas forward line but they just could not get anybody to take a mark at the right time. Credit to TV for hanging in there though.

Also thought it was a good move that TV wore an 'away' strip so that the colours didn't clash. Funny thing is the away strip just happened to be the yellow HFL association guernseys! Not sure if any other club has done that this year, but well done to whoever came up with the idea.

Yeah the Colts have fallen just short for a few games, hopefully this won't hurt too much if a relegation actually takes place as Bridgey juniors aren't bad.
Whiteline - I think that it's the League's decision as Lofty & Birdwood had to do the same when Birdwood were in Central.

All very dissapointed about saturdays lost. Can assure the club and playing group are 100% behind the coach though and are looking towards this weeks clash with Ironbank

I see there is a lot of chatter on the Country Div thread about Birdwood apparently considering moving over to the BL&G footy league.

Anybody on here from Echunga who has any gossip, rumour or innuendo about where your club is at regarding a possible move up into Central Div next year?

From the outside looking in Birdwood have had enough of playing the waiting game and doing themselves just by looking at options; makes good sense.
The Demons are very quiet however I think they'll apply to go up otherwise they risk playing in a 6 team division....

Rumour has it that the HFL are not keen on any promotion/relegation and would prefer to introduce 2x8 team comps with promotion/relegation from 2014 as per SAAFL.

Is the suspended Woolford going to be playing for Onkas next year? I'd like to think that trash would go elsewhere. How's the young fella recovering from Blackwood?
