If that player throwing the punch behind the play was a Roo boy I'm pretty sure that the senior coach would have sacked him.

Hmmm a precedent set?

THE SA Amateur Football League is investigating an off-the-play incident in a division eight match last month which left a player with severe facial injuries.

A Broadview player had to be hospitalised after he was allegedly hit by an opponent 40m off the ball during his side's match against Gepps Cross at Broadview Oval on June 30.

Gepps Cross football manager Kym Flanagan said his club had already banned their player for life.

agree

any news on whether the player will be taking the matter further - police, civil courts?

Hope he does. Straight out assault. Not in the play. Bloke from Onkas should be rubbed out of footy completely. Too much of this stuff going on all over the place. Some people say, " there is a lot of clubs playing in the state and these are isolated incidents" And that is probably right but put yourself or your son in the victims place and see how you would react. Start banning these thugs, snipers, whatever you want to call them for life and it might just stop a few more of these incidents happening in the future.

As per some other clubs in other leagues what action has Onkas taken against player who pleaded guilty now it is so obvious to all it is a thug act?Or are they accepting of this as acceptable behaviour from their club?

Some more big games this weekend. I've looked into my crystal ball and see:

Onkas at home against Uris with the Cabbage Cutters running onto the ground wearing helmets and then running away with the game by 30 points.

Bridgey and Lofty supporters expecting to see something that resembles a game of footy but instead get treated to 44 hairy men mud wrestling. Devs by 10 points.

'Pies fancying themselves to beat the Roos at home but then realising it ain't magpie swooping season yet. Roos by 24.

Bankers players in balaclavas and gloves tampering with the visitors hot water service on Friday night but Lobey turning on the power to win in the upset of the day. Tigers by 18.

TV and Blackwood action on the ground not anywhere near as exciting as the action between the supporters. Blackwood supporters to win the sledging contest but TV to prevail out on the ground by 20 points.

Ben Woolford is No better than the apparent 'innocent' biker who bashed the old bloke in a fast food restaurant on the news last night.
Jesus I'd love to have been playing in this game!

Anyone know where this guy does his shopping? Wouldn't mind pushing my trolley past him and doing the same, wouldn't be any difference in this pathetic act other than the penalty.
Shame on any self-respecting Onkas person/s condoning this crap.

Currently the Club shield reads:

Lofty 62

Bridgewater 60

TV 60

so this is a very important day of games between Mt Lofty & Bridgewater. I would be quite worried if i was TV too as besides the A Grade, the rest of the club have been struggling to win games!

It bugs me that Lofty and Bridgy are fighting to stay in central div when torrens valley are by far the most suited to country division. Apart from their A grade winning the odd game (which wouldn’t come cheaply), the rest of their club is weak. Not sure how can they survive in central div with the junior numbers they have, getting belted every week?? If I was a kid out there I’d be heading up the road to Birdwood to play some competitive footy. I don’t think that they even have underage teams whereas I know Lofty and Bridgy have very good numbers in the modified grades.
Anyway. Bridgy V Lofty very important game for all grades. Players will be opting for screw-ins I would imagine… green shed pocket is looking a tad soft.

If that's the club shield it's not the calculation for relegation. Torrens Valley are in better shape than the others because u13 don't count towards relegation.

If that's the club shield it's not the calculation for relegation. Torrens Valley are in better shape than the others because u13 don't count towards relegation.

The bottom 4 in the relegation table are;
Lobethal - 46
TV - 33
Mt Lofty - 30
Bridgewater - 28
So will be an interesting finish to the season.
StickyFingers, in regards to Lofty or bridgy getting relegated, the Central div clubs have no one to blame bu themselves as they had the opportunity to change the by-laws 2 years ago but as it currently stands, a club will get relegated on the club's results but will get promoted on their A grade's results.

actually, these points are incorrect. its 10 pts for an a grade win, 5 pts for b grade and snr colts, 3 pts for jnr colts. right now its tv on 60, m/lofty on 57 and b/water on 55.

Just left Bridgey v Lofty... Lofty were 4 goals to 2 up with not long to go.
Unbelievable conditions!
Lofty a bit stronger over the ball, but ump gave em a couple of dodgy frees which lead to goals... not helpful when only 6 kicked!
