Blacker was absolutely outstanding all weekend and was clearly the outstanding centremen of the carnival. You mustn't have been watching very closely if you don't agree cause he was unreal! Cragg-Sapsford was good at CHF. Although not his best carnival, he will still be a state country player sooner than later and deservedly so. Watch him play closely, the guy is a freak! How Rory Hunt didn't get picked is a joke. The guy is unbelievable. He was Lincoln's best on sat and was again brilliant on Monday! The EP side need a small backman like him.

Well done to Lincoln boys.

JCS I thought was great yesterday in the rain. For someone that relies on overhead marks for him to play CHF in the wet and just cuase contest after contest for the smalls to feed of was awesome. The small forwards eyes would have lit up with what he was offering. Didn't he also go in with sore ribs??? Great effort I thought.

S Blacker was simply brilliant all weekend.

Minya once again showed what being willing to work can do. To watch him and Blacker yesterday was gold.

Semmler would have to be added to ep squad. ball handling and use yesterday stood out.

Sorry I didn't post the last match (100 to 29 if interested), I was too busy hitting the vodka!

Speaking with one of the selectors during the final quarter, there is about eleven guys who were injured, who would go into that Lincoln side.

So I reckon full strength GF v PL would be awesome to watch.

Reports are that the standard over Mortlock was very ordinary besides PL. Is interest in the carnival dropping off? I drove past yesterday and the crowd was abismal

We did have our whole spine out and kicked into the wind for 3/4. So well done to lincoln for beating our 2nd side.
Sammy Read was very irate at PLFL no. 18 after the game apparently. Did anyone see the incident?

Well done to PLFL. From where I sat they proved to be the best team out there by a fair way, well coached and chock full of players willing to contest, run hard and create options downfield and not just 1 - on many occasions 2 and 3 players were streaming forward to give the player with the ball several options. That part of their game really stood out to me on the Saturday. Zoomer did a good job (but then again I am an unabashed fan of his). He put a lot of effort into the carnival and this paid off with selection of 25 lads willing and able.
Might rate the players as I saw it.
Minya - Just huge and his 2nd game on Sat. was awesome. Hunt played well but Minya was BOG for mine in that game. Real good again on Monday and worthy B&F medallist
Cambo - Played his part and joint leading goalkicker for the carnival - good mark isn't he
Jackamarra - ranked down the list
Owen - surprise selection for mine but managed to kick goals from his wing (2 each game I rekn.)
His 2nd half on Monday was outstanding
Semmler - All class. 1st game on Sat was clearly BOG. Bit quieter on Monday but had 2 purple
patches. Huge work ethic all game every game
Castley - Held his own and contributed well
McKinlay - probably one of the quieter ones but also played his part
Dunn - clever footballer but another who was a tad quiet overall.
Hunt - real good 2nd game on Sat. and would be fairly pleased with his carnival
Millard - got a fair bit of the ball but not in our top few (But then again they can't all be)
Harry M - should still be with the PA Maggies but then we wouldn't get to see his wizardry would
we. A great carnival and just a magnificent reader of the ball.
Pappy - Impressed I was and his 2 runs from the back line on Monday which were honoured and resulted in 1 goal was a perfect example of wanting to work hard.
Ky M - Very clever but tries to do a bit too much at times and after being told by the coach, his immediate and first give straight after was great to see.
Blacker - Definitely GFFL's loss and our gain. Can play and popped up very often due to his excellent anticipation.
Keatley - Probably a bit disappointed from the wraps that we have heard about him but did enough to see that he has got it. Just probably not often enough - but is new to everybody down here
Reincke - Had a good game on Monday and his spoiling was a treat.
Betts - Quiet I thought
JCS - did the tough things in a tough position to play. Did not stand out the way he normally does but gee I'd have him in my side anyday
Scruff - got hold of the ball enough to justify his selection
Greeny - fair effort by a young lad. Loved his reaction to the silly tackle he laid in the Monday game - immediately made up for it in spades.
Stoll - very impressed by this youngster. Repeatedly got his hands to the ball at the taps and palmed beautifully at times. Not that much around the ground tho.
Sunny - Quiet carnival but had a fair bit of it on the bench
Jericho - Best CHB in this league (altho JCS is not bad there either) Reads it beautifully and although a surprise runner up B&F medallist had a very good carnival nonetheless
Brooks - Late call up as a full back. Quiet
Charman - Got his hands to the ball a lot as well and did a bit more around the ground than
Stolly. These 2 combined to beat the best ruckman on EP.

Here endeth the epistle

Food for thought - If PL continue to shine like this it may make a mockery of the comp. - Simply too good. Perhaps GF and PL should have 2 sides each to create a more even comp. overall. ??????

GG - One of 2 things is happening here. Either you have your tongue in your cheek when you post to create some discussion OR you have absolutley no idea and are just a crazed man who can't see past the end of your snout.

To say that GF kicked into the wind for 3/4's is crap and you know it. You had some out so you do speak at least a little truth. I know a couple of players who were very irate at SR during Monday's game - Did anyone see these incidents

Sam Read is one of these tough guys who does things on the footy field knowing he has protection, a wimp

Some interesting flinders goss I heard over the weekend. Martin Baillie sat in on a Tumby team meeting at 1pm before they played Yeelanna and did not attend his own teams match when they were flogged. Has his bags packed for Tumby already I'm told, can't wait to desert the saints. mark habner sat out the above match to ensure he was right for Mortlock and ultimately EP, state country!! Not a team player, was thinking of himself.

How interesting will this weeks Eagle Tiger game be. Eagles can go to 4 wins, Tigers 2 or they square off with 3 a piece if the Tigers prevail. Tasmans MR also very interesting. Top 2 is concrete and result won't matter for MP and Waybacks

I dont know who the 5 top players lincoln apparently had out but we did have Habner, Prime, Holman, Pedler and Jake Cave unavalible
