"according to the article, ramblers have lost eli koch, joel matchoss, thomas may and jamie gunther. who knows how many of them played a's though?"

f/boy i think they're Ramblers recruits, Matchoss is from the Barossa league and Koch from the Mallee league.

Also Mannum's recruits from the Mallee league presumably wouldn't affect their points as i believe all players recruited from that league are worth zero points.

oh yeah, my bad.
correction:
player losses for ramblers
aaron barney, donavan lindner, simon wanganeen, michael holland, jarrod wohslager and james dalwood is doubtful (which would hurt them if he did leave)

true.
i think it is the RMFL's way of slowly killing off that league, so as to produce 1 SUPER league in the area...

Thanks for that info f/boy, so no real losses there, i dont think Wanganeen even played for them last year. James Dalwood would be the only real loss if he does leave the Chooks. I still think they're strong favourites for a top 3 position.

Do you know who Tailem's losses are listed as?

dalwood would be a big loss for ramblers in the ruck department.
i agree, surely they will have to be looking around the top three mark.

TB have only three losses listed, not a bad effort (mind you they didnt have that many players to leave did they??)
nathan spry has gone to peake, ryan bienke to jervois and jed northcott back to BDT
they have got 20 new players listed!
there are 7 from karoonda and 5 from macclesfield
looks like they have got damien raidis back with them too.

They'll miss Northcott because he was A grade standard. I think theres one or 2 other A grade standard guys who may not be playing, including McCleary who i think may have retired but wouldn't be on the list because he wasn't cleared to another club. Wayne Luckett too i think is travelling around Australia, and hes a good young player so wouldn't be included either. So thats 3 A grade quality players who they'll miss (if McCleary and Luckett finish up not playing this year as i've heard is a good possibility).

Having 20 players in will help the club's depth, and at the very least will result in a much more competitive B Grade and better replacements in the A's when they have injuries which should mean that they wont suffer the blow outs they did last season.

Raidis will definitely be handy, i've heard they were confident in signing an ex Glenelg Reserves player, i've heard he wasn't included in the list in the Standard, so i'm not sure if it means his clearance hasn't been processed or hes gone to another club.

yeah hes right. every different league has been allocated certain points, depending on their percieved strength.
eg a graders from the hills and SFL are worth 3 points, the same as a graders from div 1-5? ameteurs.
a graders from the mallee league are worth 0 points. making them great targets for clubs in the RMFL.
thats why i think our league has made them no points, so it is easier for more players to come to our league, therefore making it stronger. clever thinking by the RMFL, not so good for the mallee league :?

Yeah its certainly interesting how the points system is structured in the RMFL, i dont think the Mallee league would be particularly impressed about the manner in which it affects them.

Will be interesting to see whether some clubs play 1 or 2 Under 17's in some games this year, specifically to decrease their points by 1 for each, thereby allowing them to play another recruit.

Also, noticed the RMFL website set up now, only now they'll need to put some info on it

If thats the case there is alot of talent that will come out of the mallee league equalling 0 points! How long do they need to be playing in that league to be worth 0 points in the RMFL? There are quite a number of players that have come from SANFL level running around down there who actually reside in Adelaide that could make the move to the RMFL if the mallee shuts shop, are they still worth 0 points?

i believe it is something like where you played your last 15 or 20 games or something like that. so maybe someone who has league experience and playes a season or two in the mallee, then they could be worth zero. it could be more games than that though?

will try to find out

I couldn't help to notice that Paul Sarno has been cleared to Mannum from Tea Tree Gully. Played with him at Mt Lofty for a couple of years including the 2006 premiership. Very handy footballer and will be a great pick up mannum.

watched mannum play South Gawler last weekend and the looked very impressive. A guy up forward wearing long sleeves went well, a 6ft midfiedler dominated and no.23 on a wing was fairly impressive...
