i dont think that will be true.. id say atleast half the guys that were picked for the squad will be putting their hands up for it. if they dont then its proberly the case of the selectors picking the wrong guys as usual going with names over guys that really want it.

Who is the SGL coach?
I think Duck Davies has the job for Northern Zone at Berri in a few weeks but again I'm not sure

There should be no reason why gate prices should rise 'significantly' as the prices the Pirie council are charging are quite reasonable, according to Peter Arnold of the council, the Croquet club along side Memorial oval has 14 players and pays $5000 per year to maintain the green, wheras the Pirie league paid just $4400 for maintenance/upkeep last year and 10% of the gate takings were paid to the council for electricity costs.
What I am more concerned about is the 'Honorariums' paid to our 'volunteer' officials, have been told by a reliable source that most are on $1500 per year, and some on $2000, I ask what do they need this money for? they don't pay to get in, what would they need this for, maybe they head off to Augusta during the finals or for meetings during the year, however I am sure they would car pool.
This needs to be brought out in the open and they need to justify these payments.

On another note, how does a bloke keep getting the SGL/Northern zone job's when he has never coached a premiership in 8-9 years of coaching, does no one else want it?

Spot on fm...no one else wants the coaching job. The NZ coach is on a hiding to nothing because goes into the country carnival with a lightweight side while many of the true guns in the SGL and Whyalla go fishing. As for money being paid to various sundry SGL officials or sundry hangers on well that's the leagues business isn't it?

Not really Sky Pilot, that sort of information should be open for anyone involved in the SGL to see, not hidden away, the SGL could easily afford these extra payments asked of them if their Honourariums were reduced to a more realistic figure, if any at all, I just do not see any reason why they need any money, fair enough if they have to do a road trip to Adelaide or Augusta, then they would be given a petrol allowance etc.
And don't think for a minute this is going to stop with the Port Pirie council, wait till the the other regional councils get 'wind' of this...........landslide.

Fair enough mate.the SGL is not a well managed outfit in my opinion. Look at the boning of Quorn, the puzzling rule that plays all games at two venues while clubs scream out to be able to utilize their home facilities etc.

sounds like there's a fair chip on your shoulder fman, struck has been amongst the best in most of the games this year as well as last season's finals...and not many overrated players win association medals...almost coached a team into a gf and if not being able to kick over a jam tin means you're a rubbish footballer i suppose you think Robert Harvey was a dud...#fmanyouabsolutepeanut

Struck has improved over the past years as he's not most skillful player or an x factor. But he is hard, good in and under, good clearance with great instructional voice. That what makes this game so great you don't need to be the most skillful player look at Mick Maloney or now Curley.
