Smith and Mousley went overseas in and Mousley is the connection due to a relative being from down that way and it being a package deal with all of them.
Smith and Raneburg were very handy and both played association, Whitelum and Mousley were good and Mcevoy kicked 40 goals so if they return and bolster the side with Lewis and a few of his norwood mates the tigers will progress up the ladder.

Micky Conlan is finished, hung the boots up over the weekend due to 'being that good' were his words.

smith and mousley didnt play at SHOC. fairly sure that raneburg, whitelum and mckevoy will stay at shocs. But they did really only play B grade there (raneburg played about half/half i think) so may return for some A grade footy.

I know him personally aswel and he himself would say that footy for him is not really that high up in his things to do in life anymore. He was a great younger player at glenelg but got burnt out early. Hes a copper now and he can not garutnee that he can play each week.

Goolwa do the same thing every year, train hard and get good numbers until march and then people loose interest or they relise they aint going anywhere and half the team throws in the towel. Anyone that has been invloved in the league or the club would know this.

Cuzzy you would think that you'd be more interested about getting your own club back on track , but i suppose all you do is get on here and rip the sh*t out of your own coach , looks to be another long season at the bays this year .

and as for Bassani at the bay?

i think they will have a great year, new president and fresh ideas! From what i have heard bassani is a good coach at training and on game days but gets a bit loose at club functions and out with the boys which had a bit of a negative impact last season. dont get me wrong everyone loves a fun coach but victor harbor is a small town and people talk.

talking to the bays boys most of them are very happy to have bassani back on board in 08. One rumour i did hear was that bayliss agreed at a player meeting that regardless of wether bassani was coaching in 08 or not he would sign, now i hear hes at jervois.

Is this the same "FLYING ANT" who's former coach also gave him the nickname "CHEEKY SHIT" ... Heading home to play with younger brother... mmm, the wisper I heard is the furry magnet that his brother was travelling home for each weekend has now moved to Adelaide! (Does this mean "Farmer GOT a wife") Any way I heard the younger brother may be flying south for the winter!!

Also just want to comment on the Yoemans / Compass stuff, I can categorically say, and I am in the position to say, that we have "not" spoken or approached Brad at all, no disrespect to Brad, by all accounts he is a top bloke and a quality player but he is not the type of player we are looking for at this point in time, we are lacking in key position height, and with the points system and limited number of recruits, that has been our main focus. Some peoples very reliable sources may not be that reliable! ($600 a game for one player, that would just about cover our entire match payment for a round!)

Hey WDS who have compass lost and gained so far?
Is their any truth to the talk that some of last seasons recruits were no paid on time towards the end of season 07 and this is why things started to fall apart on the field leading into finals?

I know Yoey also mate... and those amounts he's given you are much exaggerated. Funnily enough you'll find players do this to boost their own ego's. Don't get me wrong I like yoey but at the end of the day Goolwa won out with the coin. Good luck to them, I hope its money well spent.

I think you will find his statement was..."Whether Bassani coaches or not won't have any impact on where he plays". Due to his friendship with Bassani they were a little bit worried that if Bassani didn't get the coaching job that he would walk.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

WDS as a keen follower of the mighty compass bulldogs can you please put my mind to ease and tell our supporters that Burdett & co are staying on.Atfer such a promising return to finals it would be a travesty if the wheels fall of now.
Also word on the street the locals wer'nt to happy with the $$ going around to the recruits, if thats the case someone high up in the club should take them all to task!!! surely those locals would rather play finals with these $$ players than competely miss out all together. Its a long hard road to the top, but a quicker slide to the bottom .

All good at compass MC. No need to worry. Burdy very keen for 08 as are all from 07. Performance in 07 finals was very dissapointing but good experience for an inexperienced team(both age wise and finals footy wise). Another 12 months should see them improve even further.

Mutley are compass actively pursuing a couple more players or going with what they had last year?
Burdett and Maxfield didnt end up going to South for a look?

Hopefully the rumours about the locals not liking the $$ being paid out to players are not true. They arent gonna go to a club unless some sort of incentive is offered and without them Compass would be at the foot of the table or fairly close. Surely Compass have realised what it takes and how to take the next step in finals, they need more contributors to the game as 4-5 players cant do it for you.

Fingers crossed for Sammy Braidwood negotiating a better deal with work!

I'm lazy, can anyone repost the accurate points system for the GSFL and what leagues are allocated what points?

Here's a doozy for you all aswell.

What happens if a club recruits a kid who in 07 played U/18s in town along with 4 A'grade games for the same club. Is he a 1pt player as a recruit?

As far as i can work out from the talk on here FM the only way a player is worth one point is if he is a local player, if they are still elligable for under 17's they are worth 0 points in the A grade side. I believe LF understands the rules very well so maybe he can help you out.
