Final round showed how good the comp has been this year with lots of tight games. The biggest blow out still saw the wooden spooner kick 11 goals against the reigning premier. I'm sticking with yank to win it. Pretty strange to tip against a team that's only lost 1 game.

I ask this every year but what times are finals? I am sure they are earlier?

Watched the Goolwa Vs Willunga game on saturday. Goolwa took it up to them. Mickan and White were very impressive along with Hank and Jones. The massive unit up forward looked dangerous if the skill level was higher he could have been a match winner. Would be interesting to see if they all stay there. Willunga just had more experience and Mitch Portlock dominated the game with his poise and skill level. Haskett was solid across half back before been moved forward. Was not the greatest game to watch and it did look like Willunga left plenty in the tank. Skill level was low and i would go as far as saying bruise free footy.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Also pretty strange that a team (L.CK) finished 3rd with 6 losses and had a better % than the Top team Willunga losing only the 1 game. Would be fair to say that that would never have happened before.

And you're right LF with the eveness of the comp Apart from the odd blowout during the season, the top sides have had to really work hard for their wins against the lower teams.
Would be fair to say that Myponga despite only 3 wins, could easily have been 5 - 6, would have to be one of the best wooden spooners for a while.

I think that whichever team wins the Qualifying final this week between Yank & Creek will become Flag favourite provided they get through relatively injury free.
Again a strange statement given Willungas record this year. :?

I would say that's a little a harsh if you have ever tried to recruit its hard work you make 40 phone calls, take guys out for dinner and be lucky to get 2 players out of it, knowing Steve I seriously doubt whether he would have actually tried to recruit anyone but more just put out a feeler out to see what they were doing and if you think he would be the only coach or club that has spoken to guys that played association your kidding yourself, recruiting like life it's about who you know not what you know....if he genuinely made players offers that probably a bit different but if it was just hey mate wouldn't mind having a chat at the end of the year I don't see a problem his loyalty lied with victor harbor and making them the best side he could.....others may not agree but until you have been involved in recruiting you have no idea how hard it can be, especially for those sides not playing finals as everyone wants a crack at a flag

Yes Steve Hill will not be re-appointed to coach Victor in 2013.

My personal opinion only: Hilly is a really good bloke who did a great job with so many youngsters this year. If anything he was probably let down by some of the more senior players. With great games against some of the top teams this year, Victor should have been playing next week – but then to be so ordinary in games we should have won was very disappointing.

Interesting re victor news i don't know much about steve hill but speaking to mclaren players last year they said he didn't have many gameplans or structures to follow? Would have been a tough 1st year for him at victor with such a young team, hope they are not using the coach as a scapegoat.

A grade gf preview this week at compass? I think yank will enjoy it being at the smaller oval at compass. It will help to stop creeks free flowing game style, as yank are a much more physical team in tight then the creeks. in saying that still can't pick a winner a goal either way.

Enc Bay v Mclaren: Mclaren are very very lucky to be there having won 2 of there last ten games. Having seen both teams in the last two weeks i think enc bay's midfield should be too good for mclaren who clearly are missing loot's hardness in the middle and have a none existant forward line compared to the bays who have key focal point welsh up front.
