Dukes, I think you must have got your info from the Mt Lofty ruckman as I here Shee went into the ruck for a while and jumped all over him so they dragged him. Perhaps dont believe all you here. Is it correct the devs kicked the first 5 goals of the match? I cant understand how you can lose by 7 after starting so well. Also who stood Pistola and how did he play?

Heard he only had a handful of touches and they all came in the last quarter. Doesn't sound like he handled it.

Mt Lofty kicked at least the first 5 of the match, may have even been the first 6 (all in the first 15 minutes of the game!). At this point, Shee was moved into the Ruck, Angove went down to Full Forward and Butcher relocated to CHB. From here, Onkas started to take control in the middle and pretty much dictated terms for the rest of the match.

In my opinion, and this is only one from the sidelines, is that Lofty will take some scalps this year. They do appear young, but showed they can match it as evidenced by their first quarter. As suggested earlier, patience from their supporters will be required, but I don't think it is all doom and gloom over at Heathfield.

The devils picked up a couple of handy ex raiders last year in Healy, long and pohl. Seems like in hindsight a great move getting pohl who was almost signed to aldinga for some serious $$$ he has fitted straight into flash gordans shoes

Thats a big call Dukes, Flash had the ability to get the ball while Pohl didn't get near it against Onkas. He may think he looks like Pavlich but with his gurnsey half ripped off he looked more like Gary Lyon!

Some could say a return of 1 goal from 4 games is not a good return from a key forward but his work off the ball is underrated a real presence

Cheers, WB. Very handy info seeing as I can't get out to many games anymore. You're spot on. Even though the depth isn't there Lofty's young guys have to be the ones to get us back up near the top as the money (currently) isn't there for recruits. Good to hear that they were competitive again. What baffles me is the loss to the raiders, considering other scorelines from raiders games.

Maybe Onkas underestimated Mt Lofty early and were shocked into action after the Devils showed up to play in the first quarter!

Shee was dominant when moved to the ruck, didn't help Lofty's cause that they kept kicking it to him! Pistola was on one of the Pfieffer boys and promptly gave him a bath, should have kicked 7 or 8 from what I saw

He's got a tough job at Lobey. Not much depth and looked very small alongside Hahndorf players.

Yes aufderheide has a tough job but I understand lobethal have been extremely unlucky with 15 or so injuries which is definitely testing the depth, maybe the second half of the season will show the real lobey once all injuries are back on the field.

At least ten A graders didn't play last week against hahndorf through injury, and 6 B graders....

I heard that Lobey brought up 2 or 3 senior colts to cover injuries to seniors. Having as many players out injured as suggested on this forum would hurt any club.

how long term are the injuries ? when will the better players be available ?

like a number of the teams in the bottom half, depth is always an issue. teams can sometimes cover 1-2 week injuries, but if they're long term, lobey will find it hard.

good result for the bankers, and will assist them as they climb up the ladder. for shearwood was an obvious decision, as was really only going to be a sanfl reserves player at best, and it's a hard slog training 4-5 nights a week for little return.

well done bankers.

I presume all this talk about Pohl is a joke, but in all seriousness I do remember him kicking a few bags for the raiders when he was a young fella. What has happened to that potential?
