On the eve of a cracking finals series there is plenty of negative talk at the moment which is rare for the GSFL. Problem with the tribunal is that they set parameters for offenses, so the pongy player in question is probably only looking at 6 matches. What is the longest suspension ever handed out for striking? I dont think our tribunal considers the severity of the blow or the injury caused. Sounds like in will get sorted out in the courts which is fair because it sounds like Neely will be severly disadvantaged with work etc.

Our mail medal invites are Zac Ewer and Andy Evans. I like Andy but he will be lucky to be top 5 in our best and fairest, so we either polled stuff all or Zac has plenty

B Grade invites are Whiterod, Hancocks, Chesser. Whiterod will win by a mile

They spoke to Neely - If the incident went down as he described then I support his decision to take it beyond the tribunal.

Question i have. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that it's gone to the media. Puts the GSFL in a bad light but highlighting alleged king hits in football could be a good thing to clean up possible acts?

When asked the question if sort of thing was more prevalent in country footy than in say the the SANFL, Neely said guys were more likely to throw a punch in the country maybe true, but really the GSFL has never been cleaner:

1 report in the A grade last year! I can't remember the last time I saw a decent punch thrown.

Caused quite a stir that one! Only highlights how things have changed - Everyone is wondering who hit Neely but if they had forums like this back then no-one would even need to ask who hit Johnson.

Just researching mail medalists last 10 years
Nobody from a club outside the top 4 has won it and the big one is that nobody from the premiership side has won it.

No Forward has won it since 1987 by my calculations
It would pay to be short as well. Very few players over 6 feet, 2 have won it. Duffield 2003, McLean 2004 about the only 2 I can see

Youre funny.. That night he was at the Bay early... he trained with the Junior Colts... He had had some treatment.. arranged his training and left notes on the board.. spoken to a few club officials.. He was under some pain after the treatment so he decided he would go back to town.. Billy is committed to the Team and the Club and has given the Club a committment for future years... Please dont spread this crap... Especialy at this hard time for Billy with his broken jaw...

Umps must rate him more than the Bays - 12 games and best once, 2 fourths, 1 fifth and 1 sixth.

He played alright against us the 2 nd time would have been in their best but not the votes from the umpires... And you can bag the umpires but the past few winners were all probably pretty close to the best in the league munn, Pratt, Moore, follett I would suggest all deserved winners...

I hear the highly paid players at the Tigers might have to play just for the love of the game, after the club receivced a $8000 fine for selling a beer after 12am.

Thats got to hurt.
