Hope everyone's well for the new year. I have been overseas for the whole of this year so I'm sorry if this has already been covered, but Barkerland are confident of top 3 again, with the main dangers of Uraidla and Onkas? If so, what has happened to Blackwood (too old?), Ironbank (not enough A graders?), Mt Lofty (young side not delivering?) and the others? I thought the comp was getting more even? And I hear my lot are responsible for a debatable stuff-up with allocated points, anyone know more?

I'll throw something out there.
With TV going to struggle again this year to fill all grades, when will the HFL do some proper administration and get them out?
The same thing with away change rooms, Lobey and Ironbank I'm looking at you?
Also with grounds, something needs to happen with Bridgey?
And I will make a couple of silly/early remarks/predictions re the upcoming season;
Onkaparinga to make the GF.
Lofty and Bridgey to win 5 games between them.
Blackwood to miss the 5.

Thoughts, comments etc?
Please, someone.....

Maybe some of the teams within the HFL should consider using some of the money that is being thrown at players and put it back into improving their Club facilities like changerooms, ovals etc.

Lebron, I'll reply just to save you from going insane over the lack of activity on the forum as late! :D

Uraidla still the team to beat. Last year premiers so deserve to start as favourite. Haven't checked the clearances website so am unsure of losses/gains, but expect them to buy in cover for the loss of D.Ebert. Their B grade is relatively strong too, so shouldn't have too many problems with depth.

Blackwood to slide with the loss of some experienced heads. New coach seems to be causing a heap of problems with the B grade coach already a casualty. Could see a player revolt half way through the season, which could see the Woods on the slide. Once again, not sure on in and outs, but Blackwood have always had deep pockets so could surprise with quality recruits and be near the top end come seasons end.

Mt Barker to stay around the top 3 or 4. Have injected some talent from the GSFL, but how they travel in a different league remains to be seen. With Nunan and their gun full forward :D another year older it could be their output which determines the final fortunes of the Barkeroos season in 2012.

Onka Valley seem to be the people's favourite at this point of the season, but there is obviously still along way to go. A quality, young list with another years experience than from 2011 should see them go close to a GF playoff in 2012. Believe a few former players have returned who are all quality. Still believe their fortunes will rely on the form of their older heads in Shee, Klun and the Tanners.

As what has been pointed out on the forum in regards to the Mt Lofty situation, a rapid slide down the ladder in expected. So much so that a wooden spoon may be headed their way. I only say this as I expect to see improvement from Bridgey, Lobey and TV. Ironbank and Hahndorf to stay pretty much the same as 2011, which means I'd expect them to be fighting for 4th or 5th place come seasons end.

And for the away changerooms. For someone who has been playing/following this league for a long time, I have never had an issue with the Lobey away changerooms. The walk up the stairs is a pain in the arse but hardly something worth complaining about. And the lack of hot water last year was also heartbreaking after a cold, wintery day! But the size is okay. Ironbank, Bridgey and Lofty probably the worst in my opinion.

Thankyou WB. I can not believe the lack of chatter and or expectations from teams this year! I definitely thought with the supposed amounts of coin being thrown around by clubs/sponsors that every club would be talking up a climb up the ladder! Not in recent times has Onkas and Ironbank been expecting a high finish. As for Blackwood, what is the new coach doing/not doing? Bridgey and Lofty to struggle this year, Central's version of Callington/Sedan, too far?

I went to Barkerland last week to watch training, good numbers out and about, a few new faces, and some of the senior colts from last year have bulked up. I expect a top 3 finish again, with the GSFL boys incoming, I hope they know what they're in for!

Anyone want to comment on the differences of GSFL and HFL and whether these boys will be up to it? They're skills on the track are!

I heard the coach is Trevor Potts!! No idea how they are going though!
I know they have a trial against Mclaren on the 24th up at Hahndorf.
