It's a rubbish side and so is the southern side. Very good players in it but do far off the best or the most inform side. While on compas parsons emergency? Welsh not in so I'd look at the next best couple of forward in parsons and Iljescen. Iljescen is not in so wouldn't that put parsons as your best bet. Are m Wilson and rothe in the best 22? And sorry about my lack of knowledge but who is Saunders and what possie is he? Hope we win but the concept is no good

It can't be Saunders. I can only find 1 Saunders in the gsfl. He plays for creeks and has been 4th bed once and kicked 0 goals.

Plays in the BACKlines, hence the 0 goals and we all know backmen are the poor cousins when it comes to BEST players.

Creeks have 6 of the 22 players. Too many for a 5th ranked team?

Kellock, McGregor, Johnson & Derham definitely in Creeks top 6 on seasons form.
Hill & Hately definitely in Creeks top 6 but not considered due to injury interupted seasons.
Rothe & Saunders maybe debateable inclusions but have been going ok.

Riley mattner 14 goals in the 17's today was a pretty handy effort. South under 18's coach should have hung in there and watched the 2nd half

Gsfl under 15's lost by a heap. 16 goals to 1
Gsfl under 17's won comfortably. Never looked like losing
A grade was a massacre in the end. Close most of the day but in the end we won by 80 ish points. Over 40 scoring shots

Great win by great southern on the weekend. We were clearly too fast and skillful for southern's older team. Was great to see munn, mcgregor(freak), portlock, kellock and carroll dominate around the ground. Was a bit worried when i rocked up seeing great southerns backline with saunders and brown down back(a bit short) but it didn't matter as southern didn't have many big targets to stop up forward. Parsons(hollywood) was a very handy late inclusion with 7 goals enjoying lots of good delivery from the midfielders.
Noticed that there were a few injuries during the game to some handy players these being, beath(shoulder), portlock and mcgregor with hammies (icing up in 3rd qtr when game over) and harvey bit of concussion from a big hit late in the game. Not sure if any will miss this week, i'm sure 'bj' will know more about the game/injuries.

Heard McGregor (freak) will miss at least the next couple of games which would see him miss the Willunga game in 2 weeks which is essential that the Creeks win to press for the double chance.

The game was a pretty good advertisement for country footy and obviously the result showed our league in a pretty good light! The fact that both sides had players missing due to injury, holidays or 'couldnt be bothered' doesnt take away from the guys that put their hand up to play.

Initially i thought we could be exposed down back, and then when Hooper pulled out (who was our only recognised KEY defender) i thought their forwards may stretch us however Derham played out of his skin, Brown and Wilson rebounded really well, Saunders kept his opponent very quiet and in general the defence were very very good.

No doubt our depth and strength around the contest was the difference between the 2 sides, and with towers up forward in Standfield and Pinyon they were always under pressure. Munn, Carroll, Kellock, Mcgregor and Davis Neale were fantastic, top line country midfielders and showed why they're held in the highest regard around our league. Johnson started at CHF but in the end played a centremans role and was instrumental in many clearances for us!

All in all i think we should be proud of the effort that was put in Saturday, hopefully the best players from both sides put their hand up and can play for the Southern Districts zone in 3 weeks time, and for those in good form earn themselves an SA country gig in NSW in late July!

Great win today by the Roosters to beat Mclaren. S.Munn would have to be close to getting another Mail medal if he keeps injury free.
