have heard that bridgy have recruited well, but dont know any names. trouble for them is that they're coming from a long way back. hopefully they will be more competitive this year. do have some good kids developing.

hahndorf has been very quiet, just the way that pottsy likes it.

With it being extremely slow on this forum at present I thought I'd add a few rumours I have gathered/heard over a couple of beers over the past weekend. Apologies if they have already been stated.

1. A current captain of a Country Div. side set to join the reigning premiers, Uraidla. With the loss of premier onballer/half back flanker Daniel Ebert, Uraidla have the funds available. Apparently no signature as yet, but very close to being finalised.

2. One of the leading forwards in the competition being targeted by ex team mate turned coach to join Encounter Bay in the GSFL. Only problem is Encountered Bay are not interested in his brother who demands a higher pay packet. Apparently all deals are a 2 for 1 combo, so Torrens Valley set to hold on to the services of both these players.

3. Onka Valley forward/s being targeted by a struggling team in the GSFL. Although, it is unlikely they will leave despite very good offers.

4. Blackwood to start season 2012 with a new 'electronic' scoreboard. Also on the hunt for a fringe or former Sturt league player. Unsure of name, but could be one of the lads who played with Tailem Bend in the season just gone.

Think there was only one ex Sturt player at Tailems. Dane Winra. Played juniors with Blackwood but definitely not a fringe league player. Unless you ask him.

Of course they would be chasing Nick Wark. He's a Blackwood Junior, so 0 points.

But he's still at Tailem Bend in 2012 I believe.

How are Uraidler going with points? They may have the cash but points are an issue as well. 1 in 1 out fits the ballance. Any others on the move there either in or out?

I think uraidla would only have 1 player worth points and that would be remnant who came from mt barker last year so would be worth 2 this year. The rest have all been there a number of years so would be worth nothing.

If that is the case it all sounds promising for them again.

Hmmm, very quiet on the forum, teams must be busy training or wrapping presents for the big day ?

OK, here are a few items to consider :

Footy standard vs crowds : Over the last decade the standard of footy in the Hills has increased but the spectator numbers don't appear to be what they used to be. Which clubs or grudge games do you percieve still attract as good a crowd as the good ol days ?

Pre-season T20 comp : While it appearred to be a successfel move at the time for the 6 participating clubs (opportunity to give game time to youngsters while at the same time making a few $$ for the hosting club), will it be going around again this year and if so, who will be the clubs involved ?

Atlantis - 60 at the Onkas training session is pretty impressive ... if there are any more numbers out, the coach will have to start rotating players off the bench during the training sessions !
