If any moron playing b grade starts expecting money to play footy, let me recommend you pull your head out of your arse and volunteer for your club's committee. These people work tirelessley to create the facility for you to actually have a kick and a catch and every dollar they are able to bring into the club is a hard earned one. Football committees exist to give young men a chance to play this great game, it is they that are doing you a favour, not the other way around.

And if any club thinks that bribery is the best way to breed committment, good luck to ya.

Good call Dangermouse!

I'm a bit old school and have long retired from footy. I guess I'm a bit strange, but I played footy because I enjoyed the game, the fitness it brought and the cameraderie and good times spent with a bunch of great blokes!

Agreed, whilst I recognize the need for some paid players the idea of people getting paid to play B grade goes against all beliefs of what club footy is.Next we will hear of kids getting paid to play in junior grades.Having said that it would be difficult not to accept the money it was offered, in essence we should not blame the players.I must say i find it a bit hard to believe unless Lobey feels this guy will play A grade,

Well Said mate. If only everyone played FOR the club instead of being greedy and worrying how much money they were going to get for playing.

Totally agree but reckon you could say exactly the same about the A grade. Unfortunately paying players at any level is a slippery slope..........

Hmmm, as a Lofty guy I'm starting to get a bit worried. I haven't heard much from in or around the club re recruiting to cover Flash and/or Petersen Gray & McDonald. Early days but could be another slip backwards next year...

JQ, Just for interest sake, didn't Mt Lofty have a reasonably large (in height) Senior colts team last year? Do you think any of the 1st year seniors will cut the mustard out there?
