Are the cabbage cutters in trouble? Just heard Sutherland is leaving to coach an A1 club, any truth to it?

Same story every year. Sutherland is coaching Broadview or someone else and taking players. Its garbage.

Mount Barker have signed a new coach. Steve Samuels. Steve coached the Mount Compass
FC for 5 years from 2006 to 2010 and the Murrayville FC from 2003 to 2005
where he was successful in winning two premierships. He played for Pooraka
in the Amateur league as well as stints in country leagues.

good move for them he is a great coach and well liked from all reports at mt compass hence the 5 year stint.

A nice guy Steve, should do well
I wonder how much was put on the table last Wednesday when they interviewed an ex WAFL player, 6' 6" ruckman? I hear there's a line up of clubs almost a kilometre long to talk to him.
I bet in all of his coaching years Samuels has never had a 6 6 ruckman walk into his calculations!!

He's not gonna just walk in, with the coin he's asking for plus add ons he'll ride in to town in a stretch limo :shock
That big ruckman won't be arriving, he signed with an Amateur club... nevermind.

It would appear this has been handled with class and a bit of respect. Take note afterthesiren ;)

Owen desrerves that respect for the countless hours he has put into the HFL.Some of his knockers and there are plenty don't realize how much he would be missed if he went altogether.Well done Owen you should be proud of all you have done for the HFL.

I was under the impression he was heading back to the Riverland? Will he play much SANFL footy? Haven't seen him play much, only one game against our school in the open boys knockout comp in 2008. Big lad and definitely looks a footballer.

Hearing TV have signed Tyron Price from Solomontown in the Spencer Gulf League. Massive pickup there. I covered the 2010 SGL season for countryfooty.com.au and Price was one of the most dominant players I have seen on a footy field in the 8 years I've been involved in country footy.

what a shame that tv spend so much money on trying to buy success rather than investing some of their countless resources on junior development. the tv junior teams are way out of their depth in central division. it does no-one any good when junior teams contiually lose by 30+ goals.

why oh why doesnt this club build from the ground up ?

He means the culture around the club. Off the field.

nothing to do with the player, just the club he's going to. tv are soulless with a single emphasis on buying players. likely to hear banjos playing in the background as well. there's no doubt it will be a culture shock.
