If he does play, I doubt he'll play B's. ;)

Better have a look at both team lists on SP. There both playing and both in A from what I can see.

I spoke to kevin in regards to both issues during the week, he informed that there has always meant to have been an interchange steward just that they did not have to record the interchanges but definately the yellow cards and blood rules etc and this has not been happening correctly and one player apparently ran onto the field for an interchange from the forward pocket and not through the gate hence why they are going back to recording it, and the 2 runners issue apparently it states that only one runner shall be used but i questioned whether or not that was one runner on the field or 1 runner in total he informed me it was 1 runner in total, i dont know if all this is correct but that is what said and also the sporting pulse is used by the afl hence why so many positions for team official are available, but apparently there is a delegates meeting coming up and these things can be discussed there...
who ever thought of the saying winning isn't everything, probably lost!!

GSFL Movements

Postby field of dreams » Sat May 05, 2012 7:36 am

Cheers hftb - sounds like he is just making it up as he goes along! Again, from the GSFL- SP site:

field of dreams wrote:I note under "Rules taken from Minutes" on SP:
10. A Team is permitted to have two runners provided they are both nominated on the Teamsheet and that only one runner is permitted on the field during play at any one

The team sheet even has 2 spots for runners to be named! All Bays did wrong was send them both out at the same time.

As for the player being interchanged from the forward pocket, whilst it may have looked like that from the caravan, (or from the oppositions view point which was the plan) what happened was a player came off the field near the coaches boxes, walked around the boundary and back onto the field in the pocket....just to shake a tagger. He was not replaced or in effect interchanged. Exactly the same thing can occur with a steward in place - just don't tell the steward of a change!

Even the junior colt 19 on the field after the break could happen just the same - steward or no steward.

Just leave it alone.

Intersting to see how many Parsons of Compass kicks today,Strath have been strugling lately so i think he would fancy himself to bag a few.His effort of 12 out of 13 gls last week was outstanding.

Controversial finish to the game at mcLaren today.
After trailing all day, the Creeks hit the front by 5 points with about 20 seconda to go.
McLaren scrambled it forward from the centre bounce to about 10m from goal.
Siren sounded as a McLaren player was trying to shrug a tackle, proceeded to get the ball to boot and grubber it through the goals. Siren CLEARLY sounded a second or so b4 getting the ball to boot. a get togethor by the umpires and goal umpire for about 30 seconds finally saw the goal umpire going back to the goals and signalling a goal much to the disgust of the Creek supportrers and delight of the locals.

Couple of close games for the round, good to see. Was the loudness of the siren the issue at Mclaren or the slow reaction of the umpire?

Siren was fine. I'm led to believe that in the consultation between the umpire & goal umpire that the goal umpire told the umpire that the siren had gone b4 the kick so he obviously heard it and was further away then the central umpire. Who knows why he ruled the way he did. Obviously he didn't hear it straight away.

mmmmm i would've thought it's over at the instant that one of the central umpires hears the siren go. Thats just commonsense but unfortunately thats lacking amonst some umpires at times, as well as players as well.
It was just an unfortunate way to end the game thats all reguardless of who won.

Oh well... Mclaren got the points they deserved after a disgusting umpire display! CLEARLY the siren went after the ball hit the boot and the result stands!

Im wrong

10.4 Bringing play to an end

10.4.1 end of quarter
The Timekeepers shall sound the siren to signal the end of a quarter until a field Umpire acknowledges that the siren has
been heard and brings play to an end.

10.4.2 siren heard by field umpire
Play in each quarter shall come to an end when any one of the field Umpires or emergency field Umpire hears the siren.

10.4.3 signal
A field Umpire shall signal that they have heard the siren by blowing a whistle and holding both arms above their head.

Why is it that when a team loses by a small margin the opposition continue to bag the sh*t out of them after leading all day????

Do you mean the players? Supporters?

Great close game between Victor and Yank today. Slim lead to Victor at the first break but Yank had the best of the second and probably should have been further ahead at half time after failing to convert some fairly easy shots. Victor took control in the third term to lead by 7 points at the final change. The last quarter was a real arm wrestle with not much action on the scoreboard and Victor still holding a 6 point lead until the dying minutes when all the play was in Yanks forward line. Another simple miss made the margin 5 and the Yank zone worked well again to provide a contest in the square and the winning goal. Disappointing to lose after leading so late in the game, but it was a great contest to watch with many of the first year players performing very well again.

Yeah Jimmy i think that you are right.A great contest by both sides but im sure that the Langhorn Creek coach could find other reasons that they lost not just blaming the umpire.I think most Langhorns people would admit it was a great game of footy to watch and im happy to say that im glad we got the points as beating the current Premier is a great result for us.GO EAGLES
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

Lovin the gsfl.

Big magpie fan but bays are a good lookin unit. Wilson, Davis neale, horrocks are guns. Shit game spectator wise but very tactical. Massive crowd and seriously good spirited country footy

At this stage who would have thought?

Mclaren beating creeks?
Strath 0-4?
Bays, Goolwa, Mclaren winning 8 games combined?
Reigning premier 1 win?
Compass negative talk but 2-2 and sittin 5th?
