Imo wilson best for bays, m fennoughty for mclaren.

Yes Neely did a Hammy at our trial match at Pt Noarlunga. He will be back next week hopefully. Still a few missing from our side too... Presty... Tom Hooper.. Nick Williams.. and remeber this is the first time these boys have really taken to the track together... Things will improve I am sure.

I think everyone did - I admit I didn't have much confidence going in given the experience lost or not going around for us at this stage, but seeing Strath's side on paper my optimism rose as they look to be in a similar position. With 39 scoring shots the scoreboard could have been more impressive with some straight kicking but the lads did a great job first up.

Strath will obviously get better as the year goes on still got some handy players out with serious injuries from last season to come back in. In saying that though victor smashed us in the middle early with hodge and co doing what they wanted and iljcesen marking everything that come his way. Strath had 6 players playing there first a grade games so hopefully they learn form the experience & improve there intensity. Witnessed the worse umpiring performance on the weekend. The umpires seemed to be following the afl way in paying holding the balls to players under the packs, as a result of both teams frustrations there were about 14 x 50mtr penalties given and 2x 100mtr penalties plus 3 yellow cards (2 for innocent comments to the umps). Players from both teams at times didn't know what calls were being made? It was a joke at times. There is a coaches meeting with the umpires tonight so lets hope a few things get cleared up so we know what they are going to be hot on.

Players are too slow to adapt to the way the game is umpired. After the first couple of frees you get a feel of how the umpires are gonna call the game..

I have to agree McGovern. Whilst there were some questionable decisions, it certainly wasn’t the worst umpiring performance I've ever seen (then maybe I was just happy we were leading!). One of the umpires in particular seemed to pay some ticky-touch frees and then any backchat was an instant 50 - whilst I don’t agree with that method you just have to shut-up and get on with it. Yes it is hard to just shut your mouth, but both sides needed to be smarter as 50s and 100s are such a huge penalty. Our player that got sent off seemed to get singled out for what looked like a wrestle with 2 strath guys behind play which had us scratching our heads (the ump had the best view though), but the strath player that got sent off twice only has himself to blame for being dumb really.

No doubt Strath will improve over the year with players to return. 6 first gamers is quite amazing, although I note there is a bit of B grade experience amongst them. Great to see guys coming up through the clubs getting a game and performing well though.

Rumour on another thread is they are on the move and not happy at current club.

Leaves them limited to club with points, money or previous clubs. At this time of year would be a bargin price for the Bays to do everything to fit them in, maybe sack some under performers from saturdays loss or pass a hat around during the eagle rock? ;)

Others on this thread will know more than me, but - Moore has played for Langhorne Creek, I don't think he played there last year, but he did play there within last few years. Team lists have been taken down off Sporting Pulse page for GSFL for previous years by the looks of it, however a google search shows he won 2009 Mail Medal. His last year at LC presumably was 2010.

If you search 2010 results from this link, you'll see his results. Someone else may know whether he played - and where - last year.

Thanks limb, I couldn't remember if he was still playing then or not. Lots of other high quality players in the side meant that he didn't stand out quite so much.

You got Moore and Sherwood playing for you down at Westminster?

Moore is an onballer, as he was when he captained Glenelg, very handy clearance player, also goes forward and kicks goals!
