I'll second that, Adam Ridley for BOG.
Good luck to who ever has to match up on him!

Not asking you to defend the HFL mate, I've played in both too. 3 years ago I would've said the HFL was streaks ahead but now I'd say the SFL has caught up if not past the HFL. I think when your league gives up on Interleague... well your league just gives up. I think the HFL has lost its soul mainly driven by money hungry players (a lot over-rated)... but who can blame them when extreme amounts of coin is being dished out by soul-less clubs. Just my view mate.

It wasn't any different 3 years ago, rock, there was plenty of $$ around then too. A bit rough calling the whole league soul-less, effectively that's what you've done as I can't imagine any team not paying at least 2 or 3 players a fair bit.

I didn't mean all the clubs were soul-less, clearly it's the same ones every year. And yes, there is a bit of money in the SFL but nothing like the amounts paid in the HFL. I was told Bridgey were paying a bloke $1000 a game and they didn't even win a game. You don't get that in the SFL and the bottom clubs certainly won't dish that out to finish last. Seems silly, that's $18k Bridgey couldve put away for 2012. Heard Block & Fisher from Barker were on well over $1k a game and Dundovic from Blackwood $1400 a game. It's getting into the whole boring money thing again and I agree money will be paid to players but you won't see those excessive amounts in the SFL across the board. And when the HFL had Interleague none of these quality players bothered to play because they knew the HFL were spineless in punishing them with a suspension. The HFL has definately lost it's character in recent years, something which once separated it from other leagues. It's a shame.

Don't think any of those boys are on the rumoured $2000 per game, Billy Neely on the otherhand........

Doesn't this just highlight the ridiculous situation HFL clubs have found themselves, I reckon Bridgewater total player payment would be less then 30K, which is chicken feed compared to other Central clubs which would be closer to 70K - 80K. They (B'water) have obviously decided to back off on the player payment model, good for them I say, only problem they're not competitive.
Not sure what the answer is, although I think the HFL could be doing more to ease the pressure on clubs spending over 75% of the money they raise on player payments.

Gee it's GF week and the discussion is on player payments?!! Save that for the off-season. Uraidla to get up by 4 goals and will lead all day. Experienced heads make better decisions under pressure and Urailda have plenty of experience under GF pressure. Down will also dominate in the ruck, particularly in the centre. Ricky Ebert is my pick for the medal. Blackwood losing finals never gets old, may the run continue.... ;)

17's: the all round class of the woods will be too much for Lobethal. Yes the Tigers have some good kids but the likes of Moore, Winra, Phillip and Richter will be thinking back to this time last year and will get up easily I think. BLACKWOOD 31 pts. BOG: Minuzzo

B Grade: Blackwood have been the dominant side all year but were out played by Ironbank 2 weeks ago. Ironbank will put up a very good fight, however I'd say the skill and fitness of the Woods will be back this time. BLACKWOOD 17 pts. BOG: Ben Moore.

A Grade: Without doubt the two best sides in the HFL this year. Uraidla are a classy side in any weather with their pace, skill and big bodies. Their experience will be a massive factor on Saturday, however I feel they're slightly out of form. The Woods have had a much improved season and are very well rounded in all areas. The mixture of youth and class make a very smooth side.
It's going to close all day and the supporters will be very well entertained. 20 years has been too long for Blackwood so I think that factor will make them too hungry not to mention the expected 1000 blackwood supporters heading to Hahndorf.
BLACKWOOD by 8pts BOG. Simon 'Kenny' Mcormack.

RIP Simon Heinson.

Ryan Rowett is an interesting one, i thought he would be good enough to play a grade for the woods?

A lot of people favouring the Woods - hope they don't do a Birdwood and lose 4 GF's on one day!

A Grade - Uraidla by not much. Finals experience and played this ground well last year.
B Grade - I would like to say Ironbank, but Blackwood will have better depth. Woods 4 goals
U/17's - Only going on biased hearsay - Blackwood by plenty!
U/15's - Go supercoach Bennett (and the Devs).
We want Vaughn.
