Someone has posted on the southern FL website that a former Langhorne Creek coach Steve Green has taken the flaggies job for next season. Anyone know anything about him? Is he very good, how did the team go under him?

Matt Size good pick up! big boy though, what does he weigh 110-120 kg? would be very handy with big pre season under his belt!

Does anyone know who is playing who in trial games yet or is it too early? vs other GSFL teams or other leagues?

I was looking at the GSFL clearance list for last season on the GSFL site, and noticed Size put in a clearance to go to EB in June but was knocked back.

If the case with Chad is correct and he wants to play at the bays FM you would have someone than can pick him up and transport him wouldn't you? He is a handy player when fit.

Physically or Mentally? never really had the desire to live up to his potential and as far as I know nothings changed!

Oh Jagodnik.

Good player, do we know how he went at Jervois last year? I know he played some good footy at the Bays when Rolfe and co were there!

The Saints had 2 light runs this week. Had a total of 39 players show up.

Has anyone heard anymore info on the 'McCracken Cup'. Apparently this year during rounds 6,7,8 there will be a table within the table, where the winning club receives a all expenses paid day at the McCracken Golf Club. Sounds like a good idea. Also looking forward to the Anzac Day clash between Creeks and Strath under lights!

Bays and Victor used to get a traditional Sunday clash during the season. It used to draw a bumper crowd, but in recent times that fixture seems to have lost a bit!

Correct, altho with the Creeks dominance over the past few years that rivalry has lost a bit of its sting.

Of the so called 'traditional rivalries none of the clubs are in the same areas on the ladder at this point in time. Ur Creeks v Strath, Bays v Victor, Willunga v Vale. Even tho Strath finish 3rd the creeks thump them!

Do Goolwa actually have a rivalry with Mt Compass?

Pongy and Yank also, they play for the Whittlesea cup is it a big deal over there?

Yeah Compass are one of our biggest rivals. A lot of Goolwa kids go to Mt Compass area school which is where the youngsters pick it up from. It has been bigger since a game about six or seven years ago when the Compass goal umpire made a couple of suspect deceisions late in the game. compass kicked 7 in the last quarter to win by 3 points. Remember that we combined with our previous rival (Port Elliot)

Lost a bit of its sting?!? I think anyone that's played in a Creek vs Strath match would strongly disagree with that. I remember a couple of years ago Strath were struggling and Lang Creek were going well yet both matches that year were decided by less than a goal..

P.S. Good to be back, haven't posted for a while.
