Runner up with 36 votes, good effort by the little guy. Very unlucky not to win it when you poll that many votes!

Must feel pretty hard done by, kye polled 45 out of a possible 54 votes, bloody good effort and the only game he didn't poll he wasn't playing! Runner up in the 17s was a lad from onkas! Philip finished 5th I think

Hi everyone. I had given myself a ban from writing in here as last year it really hurt my confidence and then some of you harsh posters hurt my feelings. Not. The start of the game was pretty even but towards the middle of the second we stopped running both when we had the ball and defensively. Picked up towards the middle of the fourth but I just don't think the boys were fully switched on. Block out definitely hurts. Some of the younger boys, well most of the team is young, need to hit the weights in the off-season. Overall we should win this weekend and then it comes down to who wants it the most in the final two games.

It is mail medal night tonight. My tip is of course Nunan. Has played many sensational 3 vote games, and polled around the 24-27 range. Roughie is probably Neely, gets 35+ weekly but in mostly losing teams. Quality player. If we could give him $3k a game we would!

I reckon half the U15's in the comp could fill that spot!

Mail Medal for the men tonight... A's - Kirwan from Onkas seems to be in the best every week and they won thier fair share of games. I'll go for him from any of Nunan (Mt B), Edwards (Blackwood) and Nitshke (Lobethal)

Good luck to young Garthy from IB in the B grade count, has had a spectacular year getting in the best 12 times (from 15 games), and the way he throws himself in there for 4 quarters right under the umpires noses would have had to impress a few!!! (PS might wanna buy some Southern Comfort shares tomorrow if he gets up folks!!!) ;)

Don't be too confident this saturday. I rate Onkas very highly. I know it's a tight picking between the remaining teams and that it is very hard coming from an elimination final, but don't be surprised if Onkas lose to Uraidla in the GF. That being said, I'm hoping Uraidla were only foxing with their recent form... if not, Blackwood will be straight into the GF.

Wrong. Nitschke got 11 votes. Interstingly all in the last half of the season so maybe the umps only noticed him after the talk on the forum.

Chris Shee didn't get a vote?? Gordon only polled 1 vote and none in the game vs Blackwood when he kicked 8 of 10 goals in a few goal loss but Stapleton got a vote when not even in Lofty's best.

Just call it the Winnning Team's Midfield Mail Medal ;)

On a more serious note, I managed to attend the Mail Medal last night, and it was an absolute debacle. Spelling errors, no actual medals, wrong teams announced as Courier Cup winners when the actual winner's photo was on the screen, cumultive votes numbers wrong, the MC was mediocre at best, and Owen, oh Owen, maybe have a time limit of two minutes and just get off. Last night was an embarrassment of our league.

On the plus, congratulations to Daniel Ebert, a great player, good skills, vision and awareness. A well deserved winner. Congrats to the three-way runners up, Nunan (Mt Barker), Edwards (Blackwood) and Kirwan (Onka Valley) I believe from memory.

And AF, others who didn't poll well but have increased their savings substantially, both Ellis boys, B Neely, Sidebottom, Wendleborn, Ricky Ebert (albeit he was only there for the second half of the year), Petersen-Grey, Curkpatrick and many others I am sure.

I didn't go, but was talking this morning to someone who did. He said there were laughable issues with the PA system and referred to the night as amateur hour. Is this correct ??

Yep! Was probably the worst run mail medal night I've been to. The mic issues were the worst. They should've had a back-up mic a lot earlier than they did.

We even had a player that was supposed to be presented with an award but never got invited!!

And don't get me started on the golden whistle - it's lucky the players, coaches and spectators don't vote on that, otherwise Mick Taylor wouldn't get a vote!

Must agree with lebron, The Gimp & Gervais about the presentation of the HFL Medal Count last night. It was a shambles.

As quoted before, the PA system was useless, wrong information given to the MC, incorrect slides shown for individual awards, no actual medals available as they were supposedly sent incorrectly by The Sunday Mail to the South East and Owen waffling on for ever and a day.

I have been to well over 20 Mail Medal nights and I would have to say, that last night's effort was the worst I have attended.

Lift your game, HFL

I have heard from good information Golding from Noarlunga will be playing for Blackwood next year possibly in some sort of coaching role as well. Certainly won't come cheaply $$$$.

Herbert, Cobb and Gig are all finishing this year. That should free up some coin.

Tips for the weekend. Blackwood and onkas for mine.

Yep maybe but I don't think those boys would be on huge cash. The word is Golding will make way for an outgoing Salievic as coach. If true this is a leak all parties involved wouldn't want getting out in the middle of finals.

How about we focus on what will be a thrilling finals series!! Massive day for the woods tomorrow, 13's, 17's, B's and A's all playing for a GF birth. 15's Sunday too!! Terrific signs for us looking to the future with such a young, talented senior squad. Not to mention a classy bunch of juniors!
Tipping Blackwood to knock Uraidla off in the big one. Will be a ripper match. Woods by 2 goals.
