Clean sweep by Blackwood today!!
Blackwood over Hahndorf by 3 or 4 goals in the A grade
10 in the B's
15's taking out the courier cup too.

Any other results yet?

Ironbank vs. Lofty finished in a draw! Great game, tough hard footy all day from both sides...

IB lost a player via a red card at the 10min mark of the 1st quarter... led for most of the 2nd half but just couldn't hang on for the 2 pts.

Split decision probably a fair result... most would have to be happy paying the $7 to see it fought out the way it was.

Some sort of record must have been set yesterday at the Lofty v Ironbank game. <edit> There seemed to be a huge amount of free's paid by one ump to both teams. It is no wonder he got wacked last week, some of his decisions are absulutely infuriating for both sides.

The count of frees for each team was pretty even, just put the whistle away mate!

Pull your head in mate, that is a terrible thing to say! Until you have the balls to get out there and umpire a game yourself, shut your gob!

Put my comment into some form of context lads, the kid that hit him apparently has some pretty serious anger management issues associated with a diagnosed mental health condition. Did I condone him being hit? No, not at all and the kid got what he deserved. My point was more that some of his decisions can make people with the greatest level of self restraint get fairly riled up. He did the A grade game with the umpires coach, Mick had modify his umpiring to balance Mr Hermann's.

I stand by my comment, read it within context of the incident.

Maybe your boys can pray for my soul next week at training Gimp.

Marks always rated himself rather highly though and his tennis 'umpiring' always left a bit to be desired, this incident wouldve been a massive hit to his ego..... however wrong it may have been.

Wow some pretty poor comments there lads. Maybe time for a good hard look in the mirror? Footy is always a frustrating sport and i guess to blame the umps is the easy option but surely its more upsetting to watch Scott Wendelborn pull out of a contest because hes scared to put his body on the line? or watch Brad Smith drop 8 marks in a row standing 1 of last years senior colts?
At the end of the day Taylor is the umps coach and if i remember back to the GF last year Herrmann umpired the main game which would indicate there up there with the best?

Pull your own friggin' head in mate, once again, where did I "blame" the umps for anything? I never even implied that the umpiring affected the result. I merely stated that the total free kick count was rediculously high.

Does anyone actually read what is written?

The game itself was played with many skill errors and poor decision making from both sides I thought, the draw was a fair indication of the game. I don't think the margin ever got over 18 points.

JQ are you going to be able to make it?
I think Ironbank will do better on the longer ground!

Didn't make it, mate. As per usual and I WILL harp on it - Lofty struggle to kick straight. The result is still a surprise to me though. IB is Lofty's bogey team & that could cost a top 3 finish for the Devs in the end, now only 3 points ahead of 5th.
Cracking year!

So yeah back to the footy, the draw between Ironbank and Lofty may have thrown a curve ball with the ladder. And this week may prove very decisive with Ironbank taking on Mt. Barker, Mt Lofty taking on Hahndorf and Blackwood and Onkas going at it too.

Depending on how results go, it could blow the comp out to a race for 2nd/3rd between 3 teams and a race for 5th between 3 teams OR bring 2nd to 7th even closer.

Either way there is no catching Uraidla for the minor premiership

I reckon clubs should get to pick the umpires they want, with top teams having first choice, which means Uri's get first choice and Bridgies last. Then we couldn't blame them for stuffing up!

The ump's get blamed every time they blow the whistle thats just the nature of the game, but wouldn't you get sick and tired of seeing the same blokes every week?

On the whole, I reckon the umps have been fairly good so far this year, with a few rogue performances in the lower grades. But that could be attributed to inexperienced umps having a crack which is good for our comp.

Praise should go to the umps when it is due (and probably not enough does go out when it is due) but experienced umps should be able to shoulder criticism. The only feed back the league or umpires' coach gets is either from the umpires at the games themselves and the ratings the Goal Umpires give at the end of the A grade for the Golden Whistle. I see this being potentially narrow minded and limited feedback.

But as soon as a supporter analyses a performance and points out any areas of concern it is considered whinging and blaming umpires for your teams performance.

So as a bit of a "good news story", belated congratulations to Kym Graham for umpiring his 250th game last week in which he and Trev Mac did a great job in a tight game at Thunder Park.

So the coaching staff at Blackwood mustn't think too much of Pope playing him in the B grade, yet he's been selected to try out for the Country Championship Team. Go figure.

Has there been any talk about clubs coming up or going down next year.
The difference between top & bottom in both leagues really needs to
Be sorted.
Hills football is the laughing stock of country footy at the moment.
It may have more to do with Country Div. but both Div. comes under the HFL
